My experience with Univeristy High school has been very pleasant and very enjoying. They offer many different programs and clubs that you be a part of. As a senior who is graduating out of this school I believe that this school is well rounded for its diversity and for the involvement of the students with the community. The theater program is a unique and diverse experience, they offer a magnet program for those who would like to pursue a theater career in the near future as well as allow for those interested to come and be a part of it. I think that this school has its flaws though, as though our education level is very high with our ib program. I think that this school needs more work with its sports facilities.
The teachers are great and there are a lot of on-campus resources available to use. Teachers are patient and will try their best to help with whatever questions you may have. Our counselors help a lot when it comes to preparing for college and they send out weekly newsletters on available scholarships.
My high school experience was incredibly valuable and memorable. It was a time of self-discovery where I learned about my strengths and passions, shaping the person I am today. I formed lasting friendships that taught me about loyalty, trust, and support. High school offered me opportunities to explore new things, from watching sports teams to trying new subjects, helping me develop new skills and interests. It also prepared me for the future by teaching important life skills and academic subjects. Lastly, my high school years were filled with fun and memorable experiences, creating lasting memories with my classmates. Overall, my high school experience was a time of growth, learning, and unforgettable moments that I will always cherish.
I have been coming to this school for the past 4 years and I have greatly enjoyed the classes, teachers, clubs, and even the college readiness center. My only criticism is that I believe the parents of students should be more involved with the academic committee and some more supervision/administrators around the schools, especially during club hours.
Like every other high school, University High has its good and bad moments. I enrolled into this school as a performing arts magnet student. Being a part of a musical program really helped me come out of my shell. The community feels like a family and I loved spending every second with the other students.
I feel that this school is very 50/50. There are some really amazing teachers that can truly help you succeed and others are more passive. The performing arts magnet program has amazing, talented, young artists that are accepted through audition. Tracks include Theatre, Piano and Guitar, Vocal, Orchestra, and Dance. All PFAM teachers consistently deliver high quality pieces. I also recommend the IB diploma program. All students in that program show great promise and most have high GPAs. More than half the school is enrolled in either the performing arts magnet or IB. We have won awards for them. Other than these two programs the school is average. Not ideal for sports. Overall, I've had a good experience as a student. Just wish some improvements were made to help the entire student body.
University High School is a relatively standard American public school, but there are many improvements to be made. Greater care in terms of student's mental health would definitely be appreciated, as well as making sure all students are placed in classes in which they can truly thrive.
Hello, I am Jovan Rodriguez and I graduated from University High School in 2020. This four-year curriculum has made an impact on me to achieve full success in my future. I’ve met more than ten high school teachers, whether it be Algebra One, biology, or U.S. History, who provided me with full knowledge of the subject’s information. With all of their effort, they motivated me to pass their end-of-course exams to receive credit that would lead me to receive a High School Diploma. As a high school graduate, I fully recommend this school, located in Orlando, Florida, for students who are looking for a successful future.
There are a lot of opportunities at University High School, but there are a lot of safety concerns. There are many clubs, sports events, and electives.
This school has a lot of resources in my opinion. There’s an office you can go to at lunch to talk all about college and career readiness. All it needs is a fix in cleanliness.
My experience at University High School has been very driven by the Performing Arts Magnet Program which I am apart of and it's amazing. The parent involvement, the doors of opportunity that have opened within the industry has made a huge difference within the program. Being a senior in the program is bittersweet saying as it is my last year but before I graduate I would love to see the school improve on it college readiness for its students. Speaking as a current student going into my senior year I felt very unprepared as in how to navigate the process of applying for colleges, essays, scholarships, and I didn't receive much help from members of the administration. The way I got through the big chunk of that process was talking and figuring it out with other students within my senior class. When it comes to our crazy schedules throughout the year due to theatre, we seniors are trying to make our way through keeping everything in order for colleges to see we are stable students.
I would love to have more money and resources to go to the performing arts and performing arts facilities. I do not believe there is anything anyone can do about others vaping in bathrooms or destroying property. However, the arts program at University is very good and after four years here I can proudly say they have done well in that area.
My experience with University High School has been overall very positive. Most of my family attended this same school and ever since then it's always improved. The teachers i've had have all been very understanding and patient with me. The worst parts of my school may have to be for me personally the lunch food and some students and their behaviours. A change i would like to see is less judgement as i believe that with less judgement people can be comfortable and happy being themselves and we would have a better campus.
My experience with University High School is kind of odd. Personally I dislike the way students act there, but I like how the deans and staff deal with the lack of respect and discipline.
I would like to see an improvement in the food quality & just simply better organization for students to allow them to enjoy their on campus experience!
My personal experience with university high school is that it's not a horrible school and offers a variety of extracurriculars activities for students from all academic backgrounds to participate in. I've only attended my Junior this year, but I can already tell that the teachers are wonderful and really supportive. Over University of High School is not a bad school.
I really like the nature of the campus and all of the classes they offer. Most of the teachers I have encountered during my time here were very nice, taught well and were willing to help. There were many opportunities to connect with friends of similar interest, especially in the IB program. Clubs varied a lot, the experiences were good, and there is a lot of festivity when I visit. I will say that one of the downsides were the facilities, as they were damaged often and were not kept clean especially! Unfortunately, another disadvantage are few of the other faculty staff such as the deans, whom I have seen and heard a lot of complaints regarding about attitude from other fellow students. Overall, it was a good experience these 3-4 years at UHS, and I would recommend it especially for students who want to challenge themselves through IB!
