I was a disabled GS student who graduated from Columbia. During my years there, I was harassed by another student at CC, whose father was an alumni. I filed a complaint and was told I would lose my named scholarship. I had a 4.0 GPA whereas my harasser had a 2.5 GPA. He patently cheated on exams and harassed at least one other person to the point where she had to move out of her dorm. Columbia hired an attorney to protect him, but told me she was a "mediator". Lie! The Dean, now fortunately dead, attempted to force me to sign a form waiving my rights. HELL NO! I got a lawyer and sued. The school retaliated by cancelling my joint program and dropping my foreign language, Telugu. I had to take TWO YEARS off, but graduated Magna Cum Laude. CU's administration transcends the definition of corrupt. It is a non-responsive brick wall which fails to adhere to its own policies enumerated in the student contract. I am ashamed of Columbia. It is the worst experience of my life!
As a visiting student at Columbia University, I had an incredible experience that broadened my academic and personal horizons. The history department is truly exceptional, featuring a diverse range of courses that cover various periods and themes. The professors are not only knowledgeable but also passionate about their subjects, creating an engaging an encouraging learning environment.
I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to explore unique historical perspectives through a variety of electives. The access to extensive resources, including the incredible libraries and archives, greatly enriched my research and projects.
Columbia's location in New York City provided countless opportunities to visit historical sites, museums, and cultural events, making my learning experience even more dynamic.
Overall, my time at Columbia was transformative, and I left with not only a deeper understanding of history but also valuable friendships and memories that I will cherish for years to come.

Columbia then offers her students a college education and experience like no other. Being among the most talented students in the world and following in the footsteps of some of America's greatest minds has inspired me to work harder to pursue my full potential.
