The RSSSF Archive

RSSSF provides a tremendous archive containing European Championship and Cup results as well as domestic league results and tables for the main levels in most countries in Europe.  Sections that may be of particular interest include:

UEFA

The Union of European Football Associations (known as UEFA) is the administrative body for association football in Europe and, partially, Asia. UEFA was founded on June 15, 1954 in Basel and represents the national football associations of Europe, runs nation and club competitions.

Initially the European football union accounted for 25 members but this was later doubled by the early 1990s. Several countries that geographically are located in Asia have been admitted to the European football association, particularly Israel and Kazakhstan.

Until 1959 the main headquarters were located in Paris, and later moved to Bern. Since 1995 UEFA headquarters has been based in Nyon, Switzerland. The current president is Michel Platini.

UEFA currently runs the following competitions:

1. UEFA Champions League, Europe's premier football club competition, reorganised in 1992. The top 1-4 teams of each country's league may qualify for the competition, dependent on ranking.

2. UEFA Europa League, Europe's second football club competition, reorganised in 2009. This competition is for national knockout cup winners and high-placed league teams
3. UEFA Super Cup, the previous seasons winners of the Europa League and the Champions League. Previously played between the European cup and Cup winners cup holders.
4. UEFA Futsal Cup, a tournament started in 2001 which replaced the former Futsal European Clubs Championship.

In the past the organisation has run the following competitions:

1. European Champion Clubs' Cup (1955-1992), expanded and renamed UEFA Champions League in 1992.
2. UEFA Cup (1971-2009), expanded and renamed UEFA Europa League in 2009.
3. UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (1960-1999), disbanded with qualifying clubs transferred to UEFA Cup in 1999.
4. UEFA Intertoto Cup (1961-2009), disbanded with qualifying clubs transferred to UEFA Europa League in 2009.
