Now, why does he get such a strong reaction? He’s not a comedian, he doesn’t have a lot of catch-phrases, and he doesn’t wave and kiss up to the fans. The answer is RESPECT. The Undertaker has done it all, and he has the respect of the fans and all the other wrestlers.
So, with this video, we see the character step aside, and Mark Calaway tells us about all the challenges that he has faced and overcome. We see his wife, his kids, his house; we see him laugh, reminisce, and we even almost see him cry at one point. It’s clear that he is human, he doesn’t sleep in a coffin, he has had doubts and bad times, just like everyone else.
I personally hope The Undertaker really has retired, for one simple reason: I don’t want to see him end up in a wheelchair. Highly recommended video.
