This past week there was a computer glitch and several campuses experienced false waitlist admits so make sure this is actually legitimate. For UCI, there was an email with confetti which proved to be a mistake.

If so, congratulations to your daughter. Can you post her major and stats?

Sorry but I have to ask this even though it isnā€™t making sense. My S24 has gotten into 1 UC and is WL in most other UCs (we are in-state for UCs). A few other parents are telling me that if you do not SIR to the UC that you have been admitted to but instead accept something OOS, it conveys the message to the other UCs (the WL ones) that you arenā€™t keen on a UC and therefore less likely you will get off the WL on those. Have you heard of anything like this at all?

No this is incorrect. She should enroll in whatever school she wants until she hears back from the waitlist. UCā€™s do not consider an applicantā€™s level of interest in the application or waitlist review.

Thank you ! I will double-check. Her major is Biomedical engineering. We are in state.
I only know that her unweighted is 3.97.

Seems like a very small wave. I donā€™t see anybody on A2C mentioning waitlist decisions.

My daughter was waitlisted and got admit email today. Her portal is showing the admit letter .I called AO and they said its real and not the glitch

She is Chemical Engineering major and her unweighted 3.82 and weighted 4.15

Waitlist moved for sure. I think it moved for engineering. I read few other parents also said in one of the facebook group .Hopefully it moves for other majors and at other UCā€™S too. Keeping fingers crossed :crossed_fingers: :crossed_fingers:

I have only seen Engineering major admits so far.

My son was on the waitlist and was accepted 2 days before the UCI acceptance day open house thing.

Also for civil engineeringā€¦looks like many engineering majors were accepted off the waitlist. I wonder why? Heā€™s actually considering Cal Poly Pomona over UCI. Anyone have any opinions regarding these two civil engineering programs?

Nothing on the CS waitlist here. My daughter was leaning to the CC & transfer route, but she just got a $5k scholarship today for a 4-year university. She really needs UCI to come through.
