Meet Our Team

Since 2006, Elizabeth Bennett has served as University Registrar. In this role, she is responsible for supporting the administrative and academic needs related to student and course data for all UCI schools. She serves as the chief data steward for student information and student systems. Her team supports all aspects of student records management, registration, course management, room scheduling, teaching and course evaluations, degree audit, enrollment and degree certification, diploma management, institutional reporting, tuition and fee management, and National Collegiate Athletic Association athlete certification. Prior to joining UCI, she was the University Registrar at University of California, Riverside. Elizabeth earned a B.A. in English literature from UC Riverside.

Darren serves as the Chief Operating and Financial Officer for the unit. From human resources to finance, he oversees the division’s management processes and activities to ensure resources are ready and available to achieve our goals and aspirations.

As an Anteater Alum, Darren is proud to dedicate his professional career towards the principles and values of higher education and the personal and academic development of our young leaders.

Darren values movement towards equity in our world with the understanding that overcoming life or societal challenges ultimately builds character and general grit. This general desire for a fair shake with emphasis on personal responsibility and accountability has continually pushed him towards excellence with integrity.

Originally from Gardena, CA, this Southern California native enjoys traveling with his spouse and cocker spaniel. He also enjoys performing with Kishin Daiko (Japanese drum ensemble) and has had the unique opportunity to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards and Grammy Awards.

Tony supports the Vice Provost of Enrollment Management in developing and executing the strategic enrollment management plan. He guides, supports, and assesses new and existing strategic initiatives and provides leadership and support to meet strategic enrollment goals. Tony oversees the data analytics unit and manages OEM information systems.

Prior to joining Enrollment Management, he directed the federal TRIO program, Upward Bound, to help support and increase the college-going rates for low-income and first-generation students. He began his advocacy of underrepresented students in higher education by first, working directly with students and their families through the UC’s outreach efforts, then through programming and curriculum development, and eventually moving into the space where he can participate in campus operations and policy setting.

Dale Leaman is the executive director of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. In this role, Dale oversees and provides leadership for all aspects of undergraduate admissions, including outreach, recruitment, evaluation, and enrollment. He supports the goals of the university to attract high-achieving, talented and accomplished students. He is committed to an admissions process that treats each applicant as an individual, maintains the highest ethical standards, adheres to University policy, and demonstrates best practices as established in the greater admission community. Dale has served nearly 25 years at UCI and he has more than 40 years of experience in a wide variety of positions in education, including coach, teacher, consultant, data architect, business analyst and manager.

David fosters and maintains positive relationships between the university and its students, community partners, and the larger public. He oversees all community relations and communication initiatives with a primary focus on UCI’s overall mission, goals and objectives and enhancing its image on a local, regional, national and global level.

David values helping and serving others. He enjoys drawing out the unique stories all people and organizations hold within. In his current role, David strives to share the university’s compelling enrollment story with its many audiences outside of the university.

David lives in San Clemente with his wife, Mary, and enjoys an active, healthy lifestyle of sports (Pickleball, golf), exercise, volunteering and travel.

Elizabeth creates tools, analyzes data and builds predictive models for the Enrollment Management Data Analytics system for use by campus stakeholders in decision-making and analysis. Prior to joining UCI, she held roles at different organizations doing predictive modeling and analytics. Elizabeth has a B.S. in Quantitative Economics and an M.S. in Statistics.

Karen Robinson serves as the Executive Assistant to the Vice Provost of Enrollment Management. In this role, she manages the Vice Provost's calendar, facilitates communication and correspondence. Prior to joining Enrollment Management, she held a number of administrative roles at UCI since 2005.

Rebecca Sanchez is the Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships. In this role, she is responsible for the management of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and for the provision of need-based financial aid and merit-based scholarships campuswide. She develops multi-year plans and implements campus goals as they relate to need-based financial aid and undergraduate scholarships. She is responsible for policy development and implementation, and long-range planning for the office. Before joining UCI in 2016, Becki held several financial aid-related roles at Northwest University, UCLA, and most recently was the director of financial aid at California Baptist University. Becki earned a B.A. in Business Management from Northwest University and an MPA from California Baptist University.

Jovonte Willis is the Director of Data Analytics. In this role, he supports strategy and decision-making, performs research and conducts data analysis, generates and distributes reports to campus leaders and stakeholders, and built and manages the Enrollment Management Data Analytics system. Prior to joining UCI, Jovonte held several related roles in the California State University System including as director of the office of institutional research and business intelligence at California State University, Stanislaus. Jovonte earned a B.S. in Economics and an M.S. in Data Science.

Jun performs Research & Analytics to inform Strategy & Data-Driven Decision Making for campus leaders and stakeholders. He provides actionable intelligence and consultative services across the campus to support student success.

Jun has presented and won numerous awards in national and international conferences, and published in peer-reviewed journals. Outside of work, Jun is a physically active person who enjoys sports and the outdoors. His personal anecdote? Be the change you want to see in the world.
