This city park is situated in between Ma On Shan Plaza shopping mall and Promenade along Tolo Harbour. It is 5.5 hectares of green and leisure space and is open from 6.30am to 11pm daily. You'll find expected children's playground areas, elderly exercise equipment, plenty of pavilions with shaded seating, open grassy areas as well as wooded footpaths with manicured shrubs and flowering plants.

There are also pebble paths, a nice shrub labyrinth, old mining equipment items and history panels, a seaside building with refreshment kiosk and sailboat mast structures facing the harbour. You'll find two public toilets, quick access to the Ma On Shan Library, Sports Centre and public swimming pool, the Ma On Shan Promenade, shopping mall plaza and MTR Station. Overall, it is a good little city park for those living in Ma On Shan.

Ma On Shan City Park is just 3 minutes from the Ma On Shan Station of the MTR Ma On Shan Line. It is adjacent to the Ma On Shan Library, Sports Centre, and Public Swimming Pool. The MTR station is housed in two fairly large shopping malls with many eateries.

Ma On Shan City Park has many trees and flowers, and children's playground. By the waterfront is the more famous/popular Ma On Shan Promenade. By itself the park may have inadequate attraction, but combining with all the facilities and attractions around it, Ma On Shan City Park is definitely a good choice for relaxation during weekend.

The Ma On Shan Park is a nice place to spend a bit of time if you find yourself in this area during your visit to Hong Kong. See our previous review for more details on what you can see and experience here.

We visited recently and had a nice walk through the park as well as the Ma On Shan Promenade which lines Tolo Harbour. The city park remains well maintained despite high utilisation and is very well situated, accessible by footbridge to the Ma On Shan Center shopping mall and Ma On Shan MTR station.

While not a place we would recommend over the very good Hong Kong Park (HK Island), it is a good alternative to the Sha Tin Park for those staying in this area of the N.T. and looking for some outdoor space or city park for children to play around.

Tip: There is free GovWifi at the Ma On Shan park but the signal was not particularly strong during our visit and spotty at times. We found it strongest near the Sports Center and Library.

In the relatively small community of Ma On Shan, reached on the Ma On Shan MTR line, there is a very nice recreational area that includes the Ma On Shan city park. This park is a very nice place for leisure activity, relaxation and is well located right off of the recently finished Ma On Shan Promenade, overlooking the Tolo Harbour.

The Ma On Shan park includes several traditional playground areas for children, outdoor exercise equipment, a small hedge labyrinth for children to navigate through and plenty of covered seats in the shade. There is a make-shift marina area with a kiosk and some items on display from the old mining days in this area of Hong Kong.

The park is attached to a recreational area that includes a nice sports centre, a public swimming pool and the Ma On Shan public area, in addition to the recently completed Ma On Shan promenade. Collectively, these facilities, recreational areas and seaside walk, make Ma On Shan area a very nice place to relax in Hong Kong, particularly when you are overwhelmed by the chaos of the city.

During a short trip to Hong Kong, it is difficult to recommend making a visit the Ma On Shan city park over more famous attractions and the nice Hong Kong park on HK island. However, if you are staying in Hong Kong for a longer period or want to see what a suburban Hong Kong community is like outside of HK island and Kowloon, this is a nice place to visit for an afternoon, particularly in the cooler months of the year.

From the Ma On Shan MTR station, you exit to the right into the Ma On Shan Plaza and follow signs in the direction of the Ma On Shan park, as you leave the plaza you walk across a bridge, down to street level and you are at the entrance of the park.

Settled by the sea, there’s a very beautiful view from the park. It’s huge and playful for kids, exercise equipments, green clean grass to picnic and snack bar, not far from the metro station too.

This is a nice city park located between the Ma On Shan Plaza shopping centre and Ma On Shan Promenade which runs along Tolo Harbour. Here you will find a fair sized park with leisure and recreation space for local residents and anyone planning to spend time in this area of Hong Kong.

The park features the expected children's playground areas, exercise stations, walking trails, green grass for picnics, landscaping and small section of wooded area. You will also find a walled shrub labyrinth, a seaside building and blue sail structure (supposed to resemble a sailboat) facing the harbour. There is also a section dedicated to the old iron ore mines which formerly operated upon the mountain south of the skyscrapers in Ma On Shan.

There are plenty of park benches, a few picnic tables and two public bathrooms. You'll find direct access to the Ma On Shan public library, sports centre and swimming pool as well as an overpass bridge linking the park to the MTR Station by way of the Ma On Shan Plaza.

In the end, it is nice little park if you in the Ma On Shan area. If you fancy more rural outdoor opportunities, you can proceed northeast to the Ma On Shan Country Park for popular hiking spots. Alternatively, go further out to Sai Kung for more country parks, beach hopping and hiking opportunities.

Would be better if dogs on leashes were allowed to walk around, but still, it's very relaxing and so wonderful to see families taking some time out of their busy schedules to spend time with family!

This park has many lovely frangipani trees. There are exercise areas for adults with well maintained equipment and a large playground for children. There is a large maze that children run around in and a viewing platform that looks out over the Tolo Harbour towards Tai Po and the mountains.

This park is a typical recreational park for residents that live in the area, a garden and reprieve from the surrounding high-rise buildings. Here, there's a fantastic sea view with gorgeous mountains in the horizon. On the other side (South) is Ma On Shan itself, though it is blocked by the high-rise residences. It is a relaxing place where seniors also gather to play chess, and has a good breeze as well. There is also an area where there are boards that tell you about the mining history and geography of the area, so if you're into Geography, it'd be informative.

The park itself is pretty far away from Tsim Tsa Tsui and Hong Kong Island, you'll have to take the MTR and change lines a few times as the park is right beside Ma On Shan MTR Station. There are also two shopping malls in the vicinity and a public library.
