February 10, 1961 - July 30, 2021 It is with immeasurable sadness we announce the sudden passing of the wonderful father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend, Jay Pickett, on Friday, July 30th, 2021. Jay Harris Pickett was born on February 10, 1961 in Spokane, Washington as the third of five children to Richard and Virginia Pickett. Jay grew up in Caldwell, ID and attended Vallivue High School as an Honor student and multi-sport athlete. He continued his football career at Treasure Valley Community College and Boise State University.Jay graduated from Boise State University with a BFA in Acting and went on to get his MFA in Theater Arts at UCLA, leaving behind four decades of work on both the large and small screens, most notably in Soap Operas as the role of Frank Scanlon on Port Charles and most recently pursuing passion projects writing, directing, and producing his own movies, such as "Soda Springs" and "Treasure Valley," where he passed away on set amidst filming.Jay married his college sweetheart, Elena Pickett, and together they built a beautiful life in LA pursuing their dreams for the past 35 years. Jay was a devoted and passionate father, fearless leader, and fierce protector of his three children, Maegan, Michaela, and Tyler. His ultimate passion was being front row at every game, performance, and practice his children and family participated in. Jay's loving legacy is survived by his wife, Elena, his children, Maegan, Ashley (daughter-in-law), Michaela, and Tyler, his four siblings, Dee, Rich, Ginna (Maggard), and Jan (Larison) and 19 nieces and nephews. He was expecting his first grandchild in December.A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 20th, 2021. Dear Family of Actor Mr. Jay Pickett:
We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to all of you on your loss. Jay will be missed by all of those people who knew, and loved him. And especially by those people whose lives that he had touch. He did leave a great legacy. And he will not be forgotten. All we can say is, "Rest In Peace, Jay".

I am a 44 year Member of Sixth Grace Presbyterian Church, 600 East 35th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60616. I am also their "Public Relations Person". Reverend Dr. David B. Thornton is the Pastor, and Reverend Donald B. Register is the Pastor Emeritus.
I am also A Former Member of Church Musician Ship Guild, Inc. (1988-2008). The late Dr. Mildred G. Lewis was The Founder, and Executive Director. I was their Assistant Administrative Secretary, Executive Secretary, and Public Relations Director.
I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to all of you on your loss. Jay will be missed by all of those people who knew, and loved him. He did leave a great legacy. And he will not be forgotten. All I can say is, "Rest In Peace, Jay".

Jay Pickett RIP & his brothers grew up across the Snake River from my brothers and me. Spent lots of fun evenings with Jay in the late 70s; Great Friend, Brother, Son, Father, & Human Being; He passed away while doing what he loved, on a horse and acting / directing in the Treasure Valley in Idaho of which he was raised.
