COLUMBUS, Ohio – Six members of the Big Ten champion Ohio State men’s tennis team have been named All-Big Ten and head coach Ty Tucker has been named the conference’s Coach of the Year.

Alexander Bernard, Justin Boulais, Cannon Kingsley, JJ Tracy and James Trotter all earned first team honors while Robert Cash was named to the second team. The six honorees are the most of any school in the conference. Tucker garnered Coach of the Year honors for the 16th time in his career.

This is the fourth first team honor for Kingsley. The two-time Big Ten Player of the Year is 15-5 overall on the season and was 7-1 in Big Ten matches. He is currently ranked No. 19 in the country in singles. Kingsley has also won 16 doubles matches this season despite missing time early in the season with an injury.

Trotter also earned his fourth All-Big Ten honor and his second-consecutive first team nod. The Hyogo, Japan, native is undefeated in singles matches this season. He is 23-0 with wins coming at the No. 2-5 positions. He was named Big Ten Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week twice this season and also holds a 13-6 doubles mark. Trotter was also Ohio State’s Sportsmanship Award honoree.

Tracy is now a three-time All-Big Ten honoree, having earned second team honors as a freshman and first team honors last season. He leads the team in both singles and doubles wins, holding an impressive 24-6 mark in singles and an equally impressive 25-5 record in doubles. Tracy joined Andrew Lutschaunig to win the ITA Fall National Doubles Championship last November.

Boulais and Bernard earned their first All-Big Ten honor. Boulais has played well at the top of the lineup, going 11-5 this year in dual matches at the No. 1 and 2 spots. He has also been dominant at times in doubles, as he currently holds a 20-4 mark. The freshman Bernard has also had a great year, going 11-2 and picking up five wins vs. ranked opponents across the No. 2-5 spots this dual season. He also made it through qualifying and to the round of 16 in his debut tournament at the All-American Championship in October.

The reigning NCAA Doubles runner-up, Cash was named to the second team for the second-consecutive season. The New Albany, Ohio native missed the fall portion of the year after surgery but quickly returned to form in the spring. He is 19-4 in doubles matches and is currently ranked a season-high 27 in the latest doubles rankings. In singles, Cash is a career-best 16-1 this year.

For Tucker, his Big Ten dominance continued yet again. He led the Buckeyes to a 9-0 B1G record and a 17th consecutive title. The Buckeyes surrendered just four points in the nine Big Ten matches this year. Since the consecutive title streak started in 2006, Ohio State is a remarkable 179-2 in conference play.
