Vikings season 6 cast: Who is Lucy Martin? Meet the Riveria star

VIKINGS season 6 is finally here after more than a year of waiting. The new series features brand new cast members from across the globe including Lucy Martin, Andrei Claude and Danila Kozlovsky.

Vikings season six, episode four airs Wednesday (December 18) on History US and Thursday (December 19) on Amazon Prime Video. In episode two, titled The Prophet, actress Lucy Martin was introduced to the series and her first scene involved speaking to Kattegat ruler Bjorn Ironside (played by Alexander Ludwig).

Who is Lucy Martin?

Lucy Martin is a British actress, who joined the cast of Vikings for the sixth and final series.

Martin made her debut as Ingrid, the servant to Bjorn’s pregnant wife Gunnhild (Ragga Ragnars) in episode two called The Prophet.

In the scene, Bjorn caught Ingrid watching him and approached her.

He said: “In this world, you have to be careful Ingrid.”

Ingrid then stood close to Bjorn, telling him: “I don’t want to be careful” before walking away.

Later in the episode, Gunnhild confronted Ingrid for looking at Bjorn. However, Ingrid denied having any romantic inclinations towards him.

Immediately after Ingrid was introduced in episode two, fans began to suspect she would cause a rift in Bjorn and Gunnhild’s marriage.

After sharing photographs of herself and co-star Ludwig in character on Instagram, some of Martin’s 6,000 followers, shared their theories in the comment section.

One fan commented: “Another relationship why?? Like he’s already married again?.”

A second fan of the series said: “New queen?”

Vikings star Alicia Agneson even commented, writing: “Gives me goosebumps.”

Fans were right to believe Ingrid may become his new mistress as the pair slept together in episode three.

In the third episode, Ingrid told Bjorn that she wanted to be with him and will bring “good fortune”.

Martin is best known for playing Penny in Riviera, starring opposite Julia Stiles, Lena Olin, Adrian Lester, Iwan Rheon, Dimitri Leonidas and Roxane Duran.

In 2020, Martin will star in the comedy-drama film The Obscure Life of the Grand Duke of Corsica as Valentina.

In 2016, Martin starred in the film Mid Life Crisis as Andrea and 27 The Musical as Miss M.

On stage, Martin has starred in Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia and Jersey Boy.

Martin has also worked as a choreographer and dancer on Comic Relief and The X Factor.

What will happen in Vikings season 6, episode 4?

Episode four of Vikings season six is titled All the Prisoners.

The episode will pick up from the third instalment, which saw Bjorn Ironside open up Kattegat trade relations with huge consequences.

He also travelled to free Harald (Peter Franzén), who had been taken prisoner by Olaf (Steven Berkoff).

Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) who had attempted to retreat from warrior life was brought back into combat when her village was attacked.

The synopsis for episode four reads: “Lagertha leads her village’s response to the recent attacks, but despite her best efforts, the consequences are tragic;

“Olaf has a bold new plan for the future of Norway; Ivar discusses Oleg’s ambitions for Scandinavia.”

Judging by the promo trailer, there may be a betrayal between brothers Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø) and Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) and Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky) becomes one step closer to invading Scandinavia.

Vikings airs on Wednesdays on History US and Thursdays on Amazon Prime Video.
