RIC approves $6B in questionable costs for T&TEC
The Regulated Industries Commission (RIC) approved expenditure for the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) that is around $6 billion higher than historically justified between 2024 and 2028. If the Cabinet approves the final determination as it stands, this $6 billion in additional expenditure could be passed directly to electricity consumers over the next five years.

Tobago fibre break a disaster
A bush fire in Toco at around 4 pm on Tuesday resulted in the fibre-optic link between Tobago and Trinidad to be broken for eight hours.

This caused a disruption of the island's mobile telephone, internet and cable use as well as commercial transactions involving debit or credit cards and the withdrawal of cash from bank machines. Also degraded was the island's emergency management service.

The letter claimed that baby Lilly's birth was never registered and the cause of death was deemed to be a spontaneous miscarriage, which they denied, since the child was born at 26 weeks and not 20 weeks as it is medically defined.
