Travis Kelce Drunkenly Serenades Chiefs Parade Crowd With Garth Brooks Hit - Parade Skip to main content

Travis Kelce has clearly earned his right to party.

The 34-year-old athlete appeared to be having a ball at the Chiefs' victory parade in Kansas City on Wednesday, Feb. 14, as he and the rest of the squad clearly had a lot to celebrate after becoming back-to-back Super Bowl Champions on Sunday.

But Kelce took the celebrations to the next level during Wednesday's festivities, grabbing a microphone at one point to give the crowd a special performance of Garth Brooks' hit song "Friends in Low Places."

Kelce's rendition of the country classic was quite different from the original recording of the track, as the Chiefs tight end—who appeared to have had a few drinks—sang out the words with his signature "big yeti" growl. He looked to be reading the lyrics from his phone, though that didn't prevent him from stumbling on some of the words, and maybe flubbing on the melody as well.

At one point, quarterback Patrick Mahomes tried to chime in, briefly taking the mic to sing out the chorus—but Kelce really wanted the spotlight to himself. He kept singing while the actual recording of Brooks' song was played to accompany him, before he eventually had the microphone taken out of his hand.

Perhaps the football star could use some singing lessons from girlfriend Taylor Swift, who wasn't able to attend Wednesday's parade due to her current tour schedule.

The "Bejeweled" singer touched down in Melbourne, Australia early on Wednesday morning, where she will perform three shows this upcoming weekend as part of The Eras Tour.

The celebrations were shortlived, however, as moments after the Chiefs left the stage and as the rally was wrapping up, chaos erupted as gunshots were heard coming from Union Station. Police noted that "multiple people" were injured in the shooting
