Travis Hunter, the No. 1 transfer player, rejoins Deion Sanders at Colorado

The Buffaloes are getting scary good scary quick.

Late Wednesday evening, Jackson State cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter announced he’ll rejoin his former head coach, Deion Sanders, at Colorado. Hunter was almost unanimously regarded as the No. 1 player available in the transfer portal.

Coach Prime swayed Hunter last year, too, when the No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2022 chose JSU over Florida State. In his freshman year with the Tigers, Hunter recorded 19 total tackles, two interceptions and eight passes defended. He added an impressive receiving touchdown in the final seconds of Saturday’s Celebration Bowl.

Hunter also rejoins his former JSU quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, who signed his national letter of intent on Wednesday. Colorado’s transfer class sits at a comfortable No. 7 in the nation.
