King Street pedestrianization is a massive success

Alexandria’s pedestrianization of King Street between Lee Street and the waterfront feels so right that it’s hard to believe it wasn’t always this way.

Every weekend, it’s packed full of tourists and locals alike going into restaurants, eating ice cream, visiting the Torpedo Factory, getting on boats, you name it.

It’s been so successful that I recommend the city extend it one more block, and close King to traffic at Fairfax Street. I might just email my council member about this.

More fun walkable areas! Keep them coming around NoVa!

Annapolis should follow suit.
