Torres De Colon are a set of twin towers with a difference. They are literally different from any other type of tower. They were built in 1976 and were partly built from top to bottom! They are in fact quite interesting architecturally, but being located in the commercial centre of Madrid, nothing is deemed strange. They are very high buildings and they house offices and shops. We would not recommend a visit inside, as there is really no great need for that. A look from the street is probably the only look you would likely want to have.

The twin towers are 116 Meters high and are office buildings constructed in 1976 and at the time they demonstrated unique architecture and construction as the the top 17 floors were built from the top down and the bottom six from the ground up, so the story goes which hopefully makes sense to those that understand physics. They appear dated and tend to diminish the statue of Columbus but worth a look

The Torres de Colón are an icon of the city, located at the beginning of Paseo de la Castellana co. The Plaza Colón, emblematic now being restored, breaks a little with the environment, for me that is what makes them great.

It looked an interesting building from a distance and I did take a few photographs of the building but when I got closer all the entrances seemed to be closed so I believe the building is no longer in use. If I am wrong please respond to this review and let me know.

We had jumped the metro down to Plaza De Colon and on exiting the station Torres De Colon loomed up larger than life.
Every city has its iconic towers and these are certainly eye catching .
An impressive structure, looks better from afar than up close but impressive all the same, couldn't gain entry as lots of work being carried out here but I still took a few photos of the building.
Easy to locate along Calle De Gerona, most definitely well worth checking out.

Constructed in 1976 ,Torres De Colon are a great set of towers that are great to look at and are a great landmark, at present the towers are having a makeover and will look shiny and new when completed, they are most definitely well worth checking out if you're in near Plaza De Colon.

The Torres de Colón is an office building composed of two towers connected together and is located opposite the Plaza de Colón, next to the Monument to Christopher Columbus. This is one of those buildings that is sure to elicit polarised views. The building was completed in the 1970s and to be quite frank is a bit of an eye-sore. The brown tinted glass stands in contrast to the clean cut transparent glass, more modernist towers, not to mention the more elegant 18th century buildings on the same street. The copper green roof is a poor match for the glass facade and accentuates the ugliness of the building.

The only reason I noticed it is because I was near the Plaza de Colon and visiting the National library of Spain. Do got out of the way to see it.
