Sorry, radicals and racists, Antifa and Anti-Antifa, this one isn't what you think it is. Far from "American History X Reloaded", there's basically no politics here. 'Believer is a psychogram about a super-strange existential crisis: about feeling lost and found; about hatred and self-hatred; about doing the right thing the wrong way. A weird film. A cool film. Ryan Gosling when we still liked him.

wow the fact that ryan gosling in this movie actually made me want to kill him........what talent, what skill.
Ryan Gosling's best performance period. The Believer is a disturbing, thought provoking, extremely sad film that left me feeling bipolar. Gosling as (Danny Balint) is a "Jewish Nazi" enough said. As he constantly defends the Jewish people in front of his kkk buddies and questions the Jews himself it plays out as a great piece of story telling.

What an excellent movie with compelling storytelling and a great story about self-hatred!
Ryan Gosling was only 19 years old when he filmed this movie, and I still believe it was one of the finest and most underrated performances he has ever delivered. He should have been nominated for an Oscar, at the very least. The restaurant scene with him and a journalist was brilliantly acted.
Overall, it is my second viewing of this movie after 7 years, and I still think it is a powerful and underrated movie, even with its low budget. It created a fantastic atmosphere and a pleasant feeling, especially with Ryan Gosling in it, who gave an excellent performance. The ending is also great.

For a couple months now I've been going back and forth between Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt as my favourite actor of all time and after my watch of The Believer, Gosling certifies his place as my number one. This was a very powerful performance from him that carried this film so much but unfortunately this is a rare Ryan Gosling character that is not literally me.
