Hardy has at least 18 tattoos, each with a special meaning or memory. Similar to other stars that have tattoos, such as Johnny Depp or Nelly, Tom Hardy has made headlines several times when he's added a new tattoo to his collection. He is one of the hottest tattooed celebrities and famous people with tattoos.

Some of Tom's tattoos represent his former lovers, while others are in honor of his family. He has two tattoos of phrases in Italian: "figlio mio bellissimo" ("my beautiful son") on his right arm and "padre fiero" ("proud father") under his clavicle. Other tattoos include tribal patterns, the Union Jack, a theatrical mask a crow, and the infamous leprechaun on his right bicep. Several of them can be seen in his 2011 action movie Warrior.
