How tall is movie star Tom Hardy? While a lot of actors start their careers in supporting roles in TV shows or low budget movies, Hardy got off to a classy beginning. His first TV series was a two-episode role in acclaimed WW2 drama Band Of Brothers and he had a part in Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down. His career already seemed to be on the ascent when he was cast as Shinzon in 2002's Star Trek: Nemesis, the main villain and evil clone of Patrick Stewart's Picard. Unfortunately, the movie was a bomb and the young star would return to supporting roles in assorted projects for the rest of the decade.

After parts in horror movie LD 50 Lethal Dose, Layer Cake and SYFY film Minotaur - which he later gave a less than glowing review to - things started to pick up. Tom Hardy received deserved praise for his title turn in Nicolas Winding Refn's Bronson and thriller miniseries The Take. The former, in particular, put him on Hollywood's radar and he was cast as Eames in Christopher Nolan's Inception. Even amongst a cast that included Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page and Cillian Murphy, he stood out. More leading roles followed which only cemented his rising star status, including the 2011 fighting drama Warrior and misfiring romantic comedy This Means War with Reese Witherspoon.

The movie that arguably made him a star is The Dark Knight Rises, where he played imposing villain Bane. While his voice was easy to mock, his towering turn stole the movie. Tom Hardy has been very smart with his choice of material in the years since, with his filmography mostly filled with gems. After a well-received turn in thriller Locke - which is literally just his character in a car for most of the runtime - he inherited the role of the Road Warrior for Mad Max: Fury Road. After years of anticipation, the movie surpassed expectations and is considered one of the best movies of the last decade. As for the actor's height, according to CelebHeights, he stands at 5ft 9 tall.

Tom Hardy as Mad Max in Fury Road

In the last five years, Tom Hardy has appeared in a varied mix of movies and shows. He has a recurring role on Peaky Blinders as gangster Alfie Simmons and played a dual park as real-life London gangsters Reggie and Ronnie Kray in Legend. He reunited with Leonardo DiCaprio for grueling survival movie The Revenant, where he played another villainous part.

Tom Hardy worked with Nolan once again when he played a WW2 pilot in Dunkirk - which featured his recurring cinematic habit of having his face obscured. He co-created gritty thriller series Taboo with his father Chips Hardy, where he also played the main character, which debuted in 2017. He's recently nabbed his own franchise with 2018's Venom, where he plays both Eddie Brock and his titular anti-hero persona. While the movie received mixed reviews Hardy's performance was a definite highlight and he will return for the upcoming sequel. His most recent turn was as gangster Capone in the Josh Trank helmed film of the same name.
