Thomas Ray Cooper

Thomas Ray "T.R." Cooper, age 92 of Stockbridge, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.
Thomas, affectionately known as Ray, was born on October 21, 1927 in White County, Tennessee to Henry Clayton Cooper and Nettie Greene Cooper. He loved his family, friends and spending time hunting and fishing. He was a building contractor for many years and also worked at the Atlanta Dairies for over 10 years.
Ray was one of the first members of the Fairview Church of Christ at Stockbridge, Georgia. He and his wife Jewell were two of six people at the first service, which also included life-long friends, the Cadenhead and Clark Families. Ray also served as an Elder and song leader at Fairview Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jewell Sapp Cooper and brother, Kenneth Cooper.
Survivors include his three children, Linda Barnes (Richard), Darrell Cooper (Barbara) and Sibyl Snead (Larry); three sisters, Joyce Cooper, Sarah Foster and Judy Hunter; one brother, Wm. Richard Cooper (Marie); seven granddaughters; one grandson; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; other relatives and family friends.
The family will meet with friends on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, where funeral services for Thomas Ray Cooper will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Interment will be held immediately following the service at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
