Todd Rundgren – Something / Anything?

Same lacquer and plating as USA pressing from 1972: same runout code, Sterling stamp and Lee Hulko etchings on all 4 sides.

Great sounding pressing! I never heard this album sound so clear! Also love the whole package: the box, the coloured vinyl etc. Everything is beautiful.

Actually, the original pressing of Something/Anything is surprisingly bass heavy for a record from 1972. I just did an A/B comparison with my first press Bearsville/WB copy and both are equally bass heavy at flat EQ levels. If anything, this Rhino press is a little clearer at the higher frequencies, most noticible on Todd's vocals. I will keep both.but this version is a solid press and finding it in good condition may be easier than the OG. Todd is God!

Fantastic sounding pressing! Usually stay away from colored vinyl, but this is quiet and airy, fabulous space.

another wonderful pressing from MFSL ,Why people continue to seek out these poor sounding records still amazes me to this day, I guess all you have to do is cut down the treble, suck out the midrange and pump up the bass , and audiophiles will lose their GD Minds, That sound is not for me, but alot of my friends swear by it, This MFSL of Rundgrens S/A is a hard Pass

Yeha, I did turn down the bass a touch on my receiver as soon as I started the record hahaha. But wow...really rich, punchy, just sounds so so good. Great pressing for a legendary album.

Would this a different release or just a variant?

Side 1: the soul/Laura N. side. Includes Motown pastiche and hit single.
Side 2: the psych side. Includes an early all synth/drum machine video game music song in 'Breathless'.
Side 3: the guitar side. Includes Hendrix tribute and a goof on power pop that ends up one of the defining power pop songs.
Side 4: the band side. Includes another hit, studio patter and 'Slut'.

Todd being Todd, throwing everything at the wall and getting a hit record out of it. Largely recorded as a one man band (see the gatefold), except Side 4.
