Upgrade your Infotainment system to access new features, and for a more advanced and smoother user experience.

Owners of Model S and Model X built March 2018 or earlier are eligible to purchase an Infotainment Upgrade, enabling access to some of our favorite features like video streaming and an expanded Tesla Arcade, in addition to a more responsive and faster touchscreen experience.

Owners of compatible vehicles can schedule an appointment through the Tesla app for purchase and installation. This upgrade is available for $2,250 plus applicable tax, including installation, for vehicles equipped with Autopilot Computer 2.0 or 2.5 and for $1,750 plus applicable tax, including installation, for all other vehicles. Owners may confirm Autopilot Computer type by selecting ‘Controls’ > ‘Software’ > ‘Additional Vehicle Information’ on the touchscreen.

Some features enabled by the Infotainment Upgrade require a Premium Connectivity subscription. You may already have Premium Connectivity. Confirm your status in your Tesla Account.

Certain high data usage vehicle features require at least Standard Connectivity, including maps, navigation and voice commands. Access to features that use cellular data and third-party licenses are subject to change. Learn more about Standard Connectivity and any limitations.

What do I get when I purchase the Infotainment Upgrade?

Your touchscreen will be more responsive and smoother, rendering images and web pages faster. You’ll also gain additional features that enhance both the entertainment and functionality of your vehicle.

Note: Some audio and music features will be removed from your vehicle as a result of this change and can be reviewed below.

Yes. You will no longer have access to AM, FM or Sirius XM radio. The upgraded infotainment system is not compatible with the original radio tuner that came equipped on your vehicle. You will still have access to internet radio and music streaming, including streaming over Bluetooth®.
Yes. We offer an additional Radio Upgrade, including the installation of a compatible radio tuner and antennas, that allows customers to retain access to FM radio and Sirius XM radio. It is not possible to retain access to AM radio.

Note: Sirius XM radio is only available on vehicles with existing XM radio antennas and requires an additional subscription.
The Radio Upgrade provides complete and unified station lists for easy browsing and selection and uses new hardware for more consistent audio quality. The Radio Upgrade is also be capable of receiving over-the-air updates for future system improvements.
Not all customers use their FM radio. For those that wish to upgrade just their infotainment system, we wanted to provide a lower-priced option.
Yes. The purchase and installation of the Radio Upgrade is available for vehicles that have already undergone Infotainment Upgrade. For vehicles that have not yet undergone an Infotainment Upgrade, we recommend having both the Infotainment Upgrade and Radio Upgrade installation performed at the same time. The Radio Upgrade costs an additional $500 plus applicable tax and there is no difference in price if you have the Radio Upgrade and Infotainment Upgrade installed separately or together.
Some features are available only on Wi-Fi for Standard Connectivity. A Premium Connectivity subscription can be purchased to access features over cellular. You may already have Premium Connectivity. Confirm your status in your Tesla Account.
