You will love the top entertainment and gaming at Thunder Valley Casino. The friendly staff treats everyone like a VIP, and the management ensures a memorable experience.
As a dealer there, I can confirm that Thunder Valley is not only a great place to play but also an excellent place to work. With plenty of slot machines, table games, and poker rooms, there's something for everyone, regardless of skill level. Plus, Thunder Valley is not just about gaming; it is also a complete entertainment destination. From fantastic concerts to delicious food and comfortable rooms, they have everything covered.
For me, Thunder Valley Casino always exceeds expectations! Whether you're a local or just visiting, it is the perfect place for a fun night out or a relaxing getaway.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 14, 2024
Fairly decent sized casino, but still kind of meh in terms of overall experience.
If you're in NorCal and are an absolute slots machine lover, this place might hold you up just shy of going to either Reno or Vegas. They have slot machines for days.
Roulette is my game of choice, but is kind of done weird here. The live roulette table is done by spinning a weird contraption that has slots for cards which determine the outcome. It's sort of like wheel of fortune when the dealer spins it. No actual ball mechanics on live roulette tables. I think it has something to do with California law mentioning gambling games' outcomes must be determined by a draw of a card or something.
Only live Blackjack tables (no automated ones), and certainly no Craps tables of any kind.
There is however automated roulette tables and although it'll say minimum bet is $1, some choices are actually $5 min. For an example, playing a line number is $1 min, but playing red/black or even/odd will be $5 min. The machines won't mention this.
Also apparently there's no comped drinks? Cocktail waitresses will come and charge you on the spot. I didn't order but someone next to me did and I saw them get charged.
Food court options were essentially designed for the palate of a 15 year-old. You have things like Subway, Pizza Hut, Panda Express, Ben & Jerry's, and Fatburger.
The smoking here is pretty freaking bad. Seemed like hella people were hardcore smokers. I mean these people probably could've just smoked the wrong side of a cigarette if they had the chance. I appreciated the no smoking slots room.
I encountered several sketchy looking people roaming and following certain groups of people. There seemed to be decent security though and one of them eventually got pulled aside and questioned. I guess you gotta keep your wits about you.
Also, there were no LuchaKitty slot machines. Booo!
Personally this is ok for a day trip with friends and family who don't wanna travel too far if you're based somewhat close by, but honestly I'm saving all my humor for Vegas and to have a full on experience there instead.Helpful 18Thanks 3Love this 7Oh no 1 - Jason S.Pittsburg, CA35119Apr 7, 2024
Wife and I took a trip to Lincoln to see the Goo Goo Dolls play here. Traffic wasn't terrible, The drive up wasn't bad at all, a bit of traffic, but basically took us about 90 minutes from Walnut Creek to get to Lincoln
First Impression. Where the hell are we??? Okay, it's in the middle of nowhere. I was okay with that.
Second impression, the cigarette smoke inside the Casino is awful. I could feel the years falling off my life.
Food - We had reservations at the ritzy High Steaks restaurant. We bailed after just a few bites of the appetizers, however, the restaurant did comp our food. That was awesome, Frankly the crab cakes smelled and tasted like tuna and the shrimp wrapped in bacon was on the table before our drinks showed up which scared me.
Lines, Lines, Lines. Lines for everything everywhere. Every bar had a long line to get a drink. Every food court restaurant had a line, its was terrible. And the bars won't give you more than two drinks at a time. Really sucks.
The venue. We had great seats for the concert, about 4 rows back, band was awesome. But I felt a bit packed in. Wasn't thrilled by the congestive nature of the seating.
Final blow to this place was no hot water in the morning. Had to take a freezing cold shower. When I told the desk about it at check out they said, "Oh, sorry..". Gee...thanks. Anyway. For $500 for one night I think I'll pass on this hotel in the future. I heard it's a short Uber ride to a nearby embassy suites, I think we'll stay there if we ever see another concert here.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 52379Jan 25, 2024
Bingo!
The bingo hall is very nice! When you walk in you go in line and wait for the next cashier. I was lucky to get to the manager who was kind and very helpful.
Besides the large payouts ($1,199) the best part is the ** free unlimited soda and coffee ** and they provide cups too.
There is a small cafe inside which serves pre made sandwhiches, pastries, chips, and cookies.
The chairs are have a good cushion so you'll be able to sit for hours. There are TVs inside so you can ask the staff to put on the football game and they gladly will.
Overall I would deff. Go back!

What a disappointment Thunder Valley...you have to do better. So many people were there to celebrate Mother's Day 2024 and the slot machines were TIGHT! No cashiers were on the floor for payouts, which meant, there weren't any! We have been to this casino before and the machines paid out something but this time, nothing!
I can honestly say that parking was good, and the Thunder Valley Cafe, was decent. The hotel accommodation was nice but pricey. If you are expecting a little pay back for all of your effort, please rethink your expectations and go somewhere else.
I can only hope that if there is a next time, we won't be disappointed. Please do better.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 24, 2024Updated review1 check-in
Been going here since it first opened - its never been my favorite casino but its first class and includes everything: music venue, hotel tower, machines, table games and many dining options.
Been going here since it first opened. I remember these huge parking lots back then that are now filled in with buildings and casino expansions. Front entrance now looks different and you enter at a random place where the parking garage happens to be. Music venue I plan to visit one day soon as it couldn't be more convenient since my friend lives super close now.
My aunt always loved this place. Shes originally from Japan and loved some casino action. I was never originally into it all that much but was exposed to it enough I enjoy the scenery from time to time. My aunt always got so lucky here and was her top choice... me - I always prefer Cache Creek.
You can't miss the big hotel tower from the main freeway. At night its all lit up and is a landmark. My friend happens to use the same exit and I was surprised how seldom he and his family came given they lived a fraction of a mile away.
When you consider the hotel, the entertainment options, the fine gaming facilities and the food options - it really is first class. Its a very pleasant place to be and there is attention to detail throughout.
There are many dining options. I think there was some sort of food court back when that is under construction currently. I don't remember too much about what that looked like and where it was now - but since many restaurants are closed they reopened the buffet.
And the buffet we gave a whirl today. It was all that I remember it to be 20 years ago and it was great. I think it is temporarily open for a very very limited time and so my friend wanted to try it out while it was available. He heard from a co worker about the outstanding prime rib - and for the record.... it was outstanding. Tender, juicy - perfectly prepared. I think if I would have paid $50 for it with some fancy potato I would have thought it was a good value. Some sort of blind taste test it would have won awards for.
The casino I was not lucky at all. For me it seems I have certain sequences of events that need to work itself out in order for my luck to work out.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Apr 2, 2017Previous reviewOpened in 2003 and operated by Station casinos until 2010 - the same casino operator with a heavy presence in Vegas - this casino has everything you may want to quench your need-for-casino action itch while helping out the Auburn Indian community.
Having a heavyweight like Station really helped get this place off on the right foot. You can tell an expert in the industry helped with promotions, management and all the other little details. Since station left I think the place has lost a fine touch of expertise that they brought to the table - I fear the same for Cache Creek's future as the CEO, Randy retires.
Everything is here: a hotel, buffet, food court, poker room and of course machines. The layout is as good as it gets. You never feel like your totally lost or trapped in a maze - as in some large mega resorts in Vegas - and all the things you need are easily accessible. I never feel as though they put something I might need (like the players club) all the way in the back just to get me to explore or wander in hopes of loosing a few more bucks. Grocery stores use this strategy by placing all the necessary staples in far corners to force you to walk the whole perimeter of the store in hopes of you picking up more items along your journey.
So... now to the question your really wondering about. Can I win here? Personally I have done ok but even my big whale friends have never won anything significant on the machines. I think part of my *success* here is due to avoiding the machines. Table games are more about skill - you have variables you can control like the amount you bet. My advice... stay away from the machines here. - Mar 23, 2024
One of the major casino/gaming areas in the greater Sacramento area, located in the Lincoln/northern Sac area, just off of the freeway.
Parking can be challenging but there are plenty of lots, it's just hard to tell which lots are full or empty, and where would make the most sense to park without it being too much of a hassle.
The casino itself is reasonably maintained with majority slot machines with small areas w/ table/card games. There's also a poker room as well as some higher stakes areas as well.
Food options are OK - some food court-style places, as well as Dos Coyotes burritos and a steakhouse on site.
The ventilation here is pretty bad. Used to Vegas casinos where even if folks are smoking next to you, you're able to breathe relatively fresh air due to the high volume of moving air. Unfortunately, this isn't the case here and the air is pretty stale and gross.
Drinks aren't free if you're playing, just in case you were used to Vegas rules.
Table minimums are about $15+ on a Thursday for standard card games.
The Venue is decent for shows, but their drink prices are pretty pumped up. The inside of the concert hall is decently maintained with solid views from most seats. Getting out of the parking lots can be a huge hassle after any major show, however.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tremayne C.American Canyon, CA03May 11, 2024

Wow last time I have reviewed this casino was 8 years ago. Still a 4 star casino in my opinion. They have upgraded from having a different cover bands , different genre on weekends. I miss those days but I don't miss the drunks that are in the dance floor making fool out of themselves. This time around, though it looks a lot more upgraded with "the venue" as their main attraction for concerts and shows the cleanliness has not change at all, albeit it's a casino and you have all the slobs and messy ppl everywhere lol. The cigarette smell was pretty overwhelming. Anyway I think this casino is making g stride towards that. I'll review again once we get to watch a concert at the venue

Katie M.Jun 17, 2015Previous reviewIt's been awhile ... Me and my wife used to just come here and watch a free concert from variety of cover bands from 80's 90's , top forties , rock, and even old school. I enjoyed it and still enjoy it. I'm not really big in gambling or even playing the slots, thunder valley is a resort and offers food court, buffets , Cafe's and steak house. They also have paid concerts for special guess in their Pano Hall .... Me and my wife celebrated New Years in there watching a concert ( my wife's friend provided us free tickets ). We watched a band with a New Orleans style blues .... It was pretty cool. And they also use this hall for boxing/mma local fight nights (occasionally) and I believe during the summer time, they schedule outdoor concerts every weekend (variety of popular groups ) I never really went to one .... Not just yet.
Anyway all in all its me and my wife's little getaway from a hectic week. Like any popular casinos , you see all kinds of people, and it can get very crowded, very noisy and at times can be dangerous with people that are out of control (drunk). The place can get rowdy, as casinos do attract people that are up to no good. It's still the place where me and my wife go locally to enjoy music and food. - Aug 27, 2023Updated review
New indoor The Venue review. First time here to see the same band as last year (outdoors), Chicago. The band gets a zillion stars, they are and always have been fantastic. The new Venue does a lot right, great acts, comfortable seats, free parking (but be prepared to walk, they do have small shuttles), reasonable prices for concessions ($10 for a good-sized glass of wine that arenas charge nearly double for), and plenty of friendly staff.
Biggest con: Thunder Valley...STOP forcing concert patrons to walk through the stale, smoky casino to reach the concerts. Yuck! There are doors right by the concert exit, but no we must parade through the casino, probably ruining the gamblers time as well.
I heard several people saying because of this, they'd never return.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Sep 11, 2022Previous reviewThis venue is in its last season, next year the new indoor concert hall will replace it. But it is worth mentioning because it was a pleasant surprise. I dislike the adjacent casino, but this was great.
Free parking, relatively comfortable seats, plenty of bathrooms and concessions, and a good show lineup.
Fingers tossed the replacement is as good or better!
