Real Madrid have received some good news to start 2022, with Thibaut Courtois and Fede Valverde allowed to play against Getafe on Sunday. Both players had tested positive for COVID-19, but have since returned negative results and they'll be available for the match at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

As MARCA has learned, the belief at LaLiga is that Courtois' positive test on December 28 was an error. The vaccinated goalkeeper then tested negative in two consecutive PCR tests and he hasn't felt any symptoms.

This is good news for Carlo Ancelotti, who can once again start the Belgian for this LaLiga Santander match.

The negative tests of Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga also mean they are cleared to play, although the French midfielder will still miss out because of a suspension.

The only Real Madrid player who'll miss the Getafe match for COVID-19 reasons, then, is Vinicius.
