Celebrities Who've Tested Positive for COVID in 2021

Candace Bushnell

Bushnell's one-woman stage show has closed after the Sex and the City author tested positive for COVID.

On Dec. 22, producers of Bushnell's Is There Still Sex In The City? announced "that it is impossible for the production to continue" after the writer/star contracted the disease.

According to a press release, the case was first detected on Tuesday night right before she was scheduled to go onstage.

The show officially opened in New York City on Dec. 7 at the Daryl Roth Theatre and played its last performance on Dec. 19.

A national tour is still in the works, as are plans to take the show to Europe, Asia and Australia.

Rafael Nadal

The tennis star made the announcement on social media on Dec. 20 after returning to Spain from the Mubadala World Tennis Championship exhibition event in Abu Dhabi. He said he had tested negative in the days leading up to his positive result.

"Hi all. I wanted to announce that on my return home after playing the Abu Dhabi tournament, I have tested positive for COVID in the PCR test that was performed on me when I arrived in Spain," Nadal wrote in a series of tweets, translated from Spanish.

Nadal said that he is "having some unpleasant moments but I hope that I will improve little by little." He added that he was quarantining at home and had informed those he'd been in contact with that he was positive for COVID-19.

Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence

PEOPLE confirmed that Princess Anne's husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, tested positive for COVID. In line with government guidance, the couple is isolating at their home in Gloucestershire for 10 days and won't be spending Christmas with the Queen.

The news comes just days after the Queen, 95, decided not to travel to her Sandringham estate for a big, traditional royal family Christmas. Dec. 21 was also supposed to be the extended royal family's annual Christmas luncheon, but the Queen canceled the event the week prior out of an abundance of caution amid the surge in U.K. COVID cases caused by the Omicron variant.

Astrid Loch, Kevin and August Wendt

It has been a "tough week" for Bachelor in Paradise's Kevin Wendt, who shared that he, his fiancée, and their newborn son all tested positive for COVID-19.

The firefighter and reality star shared a trio of photos to his Instagram account on Dec. 21, with one showing his partner Astrid Loch in a hospital bed with their 1-month-old son August resting on her chest.

"Tough week for @thewendtgang," Wendt wrote in the caption. "Our family has COVID and it is not taking it easy on any of us."

He went on to reveal that his entire family "are in isolation until after Christmas."

Hendrix Hehner

Married At First Sight star Jamie Otis, who appeared on the hit show's inaugural season, shared an update regarding her 19-month-old son Hendrix's health after she had taken him to the hospital in mid-December because of "another seizure."

"When we were at the hospital Hendrix was tested for everything under the sun to figure out what was making him so sick... we found out the next day that he has Covid," the reality star wrote on Instagram on Dec. 19. "Well, he has Covid, adenovirus, and rhinovirus but when I heard Covid I was in absolute shock & instantly began crying."

Stephen A. Smith

ESPN personality Smith announced on Dec. 21 that he contracted COVID-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms.

Smith, a commentator on the popular ESPN show, First Take, appeared on the program from his home and said he tested positive over the weekend. Before his segment, Smith had hinted on social media that he had "something" to reveal on the show.

"Thank God I was vaccinated," he said. "Thank God I got the Pfizer vaccine, two shots a few months ago."

Meena Harris

The Ambitious Girl author and Phenomenal CEO shared on Twitter on Dec. 21 that she has been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of the highly contagious virus.

"I have COVID," she began. "Based on what I know, after testing negative several times last week, either I infected my friend or she infected me. So far her symptoms are 10x worse than mine. I'm boosted. She's not. Get the booster, people."

Andy Cohen

The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host revealed in mid-December that he had contracted the virus for the second time, in conversation with a fan on Twitter.

"Andy, did you get the covid and was that why all the WWHLs were reruns?" the viewer asked, to which Cohen responded, "Yes! All better now."

The Bravo host, who is vaccinated, first battled COVID-19 in March 2020, when the pandemic initially hit the U.S.

Brian May

The Queen rocker is resting and recovering after contracting a breakthrough case of COVID-19, after attending a friend's birthday lunch in December.

Though he and his wife Anita had been "incredibly careful" and "hermit-like" since the pandemic began, the 74-year-old said the scare still came as a shock.

"I'm feeling that my immune system, with the enormous help of three Pfizer jabs, is now winning the battle against the invader," he wrote on Instagram.

"So do NOT be afraid — there IS life after Covid! But DO be careful … you do not want this, and neither do your family."

Elizabeth Warren

The Massachusetts Senator, who is fully vaccinated, announced on Twitter in mid-December that she tested positive for the viral disease.

"I regularly test for COVID & while I tested negative earlier this week, today I tested positive with a breakthrough case," the Democrat said in her statement.

"Thankfully, I am only experiencing mild symptoms & am grateful for the protection provided against serious illness that comes from being vaccinated & boosted," she added.

Cory Booker

The Democratic New Jersey Senator was another lawmaker to share he'd tested positive for COVID-19 in mid-December.

"I learned today that I tested positive for COVID-19 after first feeling symptoms on Saturday. My symptoms are relatively mild," Booker tweeted on Dec. 19. "I'm beyond grateful to have received two doses of vaccine and, more recently, a booster — I'm certain that without them I would be doing much worse."

Stressing the importance of inoculations during this time, he advocated for vaccinations in a follow-up message.

"I encourage everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated and boosted," Booker wrote, adding a link to Vaccines.gov to locate vaccination clinics.

Chris Lane

The country star announced he contracted a breakthrough case of the virus in mid-December.

"Well… COVID finally got me. It finally got my hind end," he wrote on his Instagram Story on Dec. 19.

In the video, he added that he has the new Omicron variant of COVID.

"Praying the rest of the family doesn't get it," Lane said.

Katie Hill

In mid-December, the former U.S. Representative for California reported that she had been diagnosed with COVID-19 during the third trimester of her first pregnancy.

"I'm boosted and got COVID and am now quarantined for Christmas while almost 8 months pregnant and though my symptoms are mild I really wish I'd cancelled my plans for the couple weeks before this so stay safe out there, folks," she said in a statement on Twitter.

Amber Stevens West

The actress announced in mid-December that she and her daughter Ava, 3, tested positive for the viral disease, and shared that she only experienced only a mild case because she was fully up to date on both her booster and vaccine shots.

"The booster is something we all should be getting, because the efficacy of the first shot we got is now diminished and so we want to continue to protect ourselves," she said in a March of Dimes "Healthy Moms, Strong Babies" webinar.

The Run the World star stressed that she was focused on protecting her newborn daughter Winona, 5 months.

"She will be getting antibodies that aren't as strong as when I got the shot, but still there's something that she will be consuming through my breast milk," West said.

Brett Eldredge

The country star shared on Instagram in mid-December that he contracted a breakthrough case of COVID-19.

The "Lose My Mind" singer, who is vaccinated, explained that he had been feeling like he had "a cold or something the last few days," and after repeated checks, his most recent test came back positive.

Charlie Puth

The singer shared his COVID-positive status in mid-December, months after telling fans he'd been vaccinated.

"I'm not feeling amazing but I think the worst is behind me," he said on Twitter. "I write you this update, feeling like complete ass, in hopes that you will be safe and careful this holiday season. Love you and I'll speak to you very soon."

Billie Eilish

While on The Howard Stern Show in December, the "Bad Guy" singer, 19, revealed she had a breakthrough case of coronavirus in August. Per Rolling Stone, Eilish shared the news after Stern referenced her cough, asking if she caught COVID-19 while appearing on Saturday Night Live the previous weekend.

"I didn't die, and I wasn't gonna die, but that does not take away from how miserable it was. It was terrible," Eilish said. "I still have side effects. I was sick for, like, two months almost."

The seven-time Grammy Award winner credited the vaccine as the reason she's now "fine," adding, "I think if I weren't vaccinated, I would have, like, died, because it was bad … When I say it was bad, I more just mean that it felt horrible. But really, in the scheme of COVID, it was not bad. You know what I mean? When you're sick, you feel f------ horrible."

Erika Girardi, Garcelle Beauvais & Lisa Rinna

Production on Season 12 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills paused in December due to an outbreak of COVID-19.

PEOPLE learned that Garcelle Beauvais, Erika Girardi and Lisa Rinna tested positive for the coronavirus.

"The girls who are sick are trying to take care of themselves. The other cast members are nervous now that they might have it. Production is taking every precaution to keep people safe," a source told PEOPLE.

"All of the ladies are vaccinated. They're fine and will be fine because of it," a source close to production added to PEOPLE.

Keira Knightley

Knightley revealed during an interview with The Telegraph's Stella magazine on Nov. 27 that she and her family are currently in quarantine after contracting coronavirus. "I've got COVID and I'm feeling pretty rubbish," the star said.

She explained that her daughters Edie, 6, and Delilah, 2, are recovering quicker than she is, while her husband James Righton, 38, is asymptomatic.

"[He is] being very smug about it — he is convinced it's because he's one of those cold-water swimmers and I'm not," the actress said.

A rep for Knightley did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Jesy Nelson

The Little Mix alum shared that she was "feeling unwell" and tested positive for COVID on Nov. 16. She also noted that her positive diagnosis made her miss a radio show she had booked in Birmingham, U.K., that following weekend.

"Hey my lovelies after feeling unwell for the last few days, I've sadly tested positive for Covid which means I'm now self-isolating, following government guidelines," she wrote on her Instagram Story. "It means that I'm no longer able to perform at Hits Live in Birmingham this Saturday."

She continued, "Apologies to any of my fans who bought tickets and I'm so sorry I can no longer be there. I hope you all have an amazing night, stay safe and I can't wait to see you all soon love you all so much."

Derek Hough

The Dancing with the Stars judge revealed the news in an Instagram video on Nov. 16.

"Even though I've been fully vaccinated, I've just been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID," he began. "I just found out and I feel okay. I feel strong. I'm currently taking advice from medical professionals to get better as fast as I can."

He continued, "I'm currently in quarantine. I'll make sure to keep you guys all updated with what's going on, but I just want to send my love out there to all. Stay safe."

Hough did not share his plans for next week's DWTS season 30 finale but did note in his caption that his Las Vegas shows this week will be rescheduled for a later date.

Aaron Rodgers

The Green Bay Packers quarterback was placed on the team's reserve/COVID-19 list on Nov. 3, ahead of a game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Head coach Matt LaFleur would not confirm if Rodgers had tested positive during a press conference, only that he was in COVID-19 protocols. He also said he did not know when Rodgers would return to play, and declined to comment on reports from outlets and journalists including ESPN, NFL Network Insider's Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Mike Garafolo that the athlete is allegedly not vaccinated after previously telling reporters he had "been immunized."

Jason Momoa

The Aquaman star shared that he "got hit with COVID" after going to the London premiere of Dune and spending time with a large number of people, he said on his Instagram Story.

"I got hit with COVID right after the premiere. There was a lot of people I met in England, so got a lot of aloha from people. And who knows?" how he got it, Momoa said Friday.

The Hawaii native added that "either way, I'm doing fine."

"Thank you for all your concerns and love," he said. "And, yeah, I'm just camped out in my house. Mahalo for all the love and support."

Jon Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi tested positive for COVID-19 on Oct. 30, shortly before he was scheduled to perform on stage in Miami Beach, Florida.

The musician is "fully vaccinated and feeling fine," a rep for the singer told PEOPLE.

The rocker was set to perform at an event called "Runaway With JBJ" at the Loews South Beach hotel when he returned a positive result on a rapid COVID test, local NBC affiliate WSVN reported.

A crowd had already gathered at the venue when the star's positive test was revealed, according to the outlet which added that concertgoers were told the singer felt "great" and was going "to bed" while members of the band, who tested negative, remained at the venue for the scheduled performance.

Bryan Adams

Organizers of the Oct. 30 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony had to find a replacement for Adams, who tested positive for COVID-19 prior to a planned Tina Turner tribute performance.

Adams pulled out from the ceremony last minute after he received a positive diagnosis, a representative for the musician confirmed to Variety and Billboard. Keith Urban was quickly tapped to take his place in Cleveland. The singer is fully vaccinated and was asymptomatic.

Kristy Swanson

On Nov. 1, the actress shared on Twitter that she had been rushed to the hospital the weekend prior and was being treated for coronavirus-related pneumonia.

"Prayers for me please," she wrote. "Yesterday I took an ambulance ride to the hospital. I'm still here with pneumonia, I'm on oxygen etc, all covid related of course. I'm in good spirits and in great hands."

In a follow-up, she tweeted more details about what led to her hospital stay: "I was just at the tail end of my Covid diagnosis when it jumped into my lungs. So they are treating me with Baricitinib & blood thinners so I don't clot. I'm ok."

She added that she had a "wonderful" team of medical professionals taking care of her, and she was "doing great."

Ed Sheeran

The singer revealed on Oct. 24 that he tested positive just days ahead of his 4th studio album's release date. He shared the news on Instagram, writing, "Hey guys. Quick note to tell you that I've sadly tested positive for Covid, so I'm now self-isolating and following government guidelines."

"It means that I'm now unable to plough ahead with any in person commitments for now, so I'll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house," he continued. "Apologies to anyone I've let down. Be safe everyone x."

Kelly Price

The gospel singer first announced on Instagram that she tested positive for COVID-19 in late July and would be taking time to rest before she was hospitalized for treatment. Then, Cobb County police confirmed to PEOPLE that Price was reported missing in mid-September after she was released from the hospital. However, hours after the news broke, her attorney Monica Ewing said she was safe and not missing.

Price recently spoke to TMZ to clarify that she never went missing but had instead been quietly recovering from her tough battle with the virus. (Ewing would not specify whether or not Price was vaccinated.)

After her condition improved, Price said she was discharged because the hospital "needed beds," allowing her to go home with oxygen and at-home health aides who checked on her over the next four weeks.

"I was definitely being seen," the singer continued. "The people who could actually say something were not allowed to because of HIPAA law but I was being seen several times a week."

The singer explained to TMZ that she struggled to rest and "focus on me" because people continuously showed up at her home and her neighbors' homes at all times of the day and night. She said she decided to turn off her phone and stay off social media because of the many disturbances and rumors while trying to recover.

"I was never missing. I was in my home being seen by doctors," Price said. "Everyone in my family knew where I was and I have to say that it's really disappointing that things came to this but it was not true."

"I have never been in danger," she added. "I am not in danger right now. I am focusing on putting myself first."

Cheryl Burke

The vaccinated Dancing with the Stars pro announced the news via Instagram on Sept. 26, one day before she was scheduled to return to the ballroom for her second dance with her season 30 celebrity partner, Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby.

"The PCR test came back, and it came back positive," she said through tears in an emotional video. "I feel so bad for Cody. I feel like I'm letting him down. I just feel like s---, to be quite honest. And it's so overwhelming because it's Sunday, and the show's tomorrow."

"I figured I should let you guys know since I've been as open and as real and vulnerable as I could be here," she continued. "I just hope I didn't spread it. For those of you who don't think COVID is a real thing, it's f------ real, dude. So I have to quarantine for 10 days and I've been ordered to stay home … I'll be in bed. I can't believe this happened."

Devin Booker

On a Twitch stream in late September, the NBA star (and Kendall Jenner's boyfriend) shared he had COVID, and though he felt "straight," he'd lost his senses of taste and smell. "I'm about a week in," he said, adding, "I'm going to be back in no time. No time." Booker declined to share his vaccination status.

Tarek El Moussa

The Flipping 101 host received a positive COVID test result in mid-September during regular on-set testing, his rep told PEOPLE. He received multiple negative tests along with the positive test but decided to immediately postpone filming in order to keep everyone safe. TMZ first reported the news.

El Moussa's fiancée, Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young, underwent multiple tests which all came back negative, but the pair quarantined together out of an abundance of caution. This will impact their filming schedules for Selling Sunset and El Moussa's two HGTV shows, Flipping 101 (which Young appears on) and Flip or Flop, which El Moussa costars in with his ex-wife, Christina Haack.

Madi Wilson

Olympic swimmer Wilson was hospitalized with a breakthrough case of COVID-19 in September.

The athlete, who won a gold medal in Tokyo for Australia, said that she recently tested positive and was moved into the hospital as a precaution because she has underlying chest and lung issues.

Wilson, 27, wrote on Instagram, "I am extremely disappointed and upset not to be racing alongside my teammates in match 8 here in the ISL," referencing the International Swimming League, in which she competes with Los Angeles' team.

"Even though I am double vaccinated and took the right precaution set in place through the ISL, I have managed to fall to this virus," said Wilson. "It's been a crazy few months and I believe being run down physically and mentally may have made me more susceptible. I feel extremely unlucky but I do believe this is a huge wake-up call, Covid is a serious thing and when it comes it hits very hard. I'd be stupid not to say I wasn't scared."

Wendy Williams

In September, Williams tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19 as she continued to navigate other ongoing health issues.

The announcement of her diagnosis was made on The Wendy Williams Show Instagram account.

"While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19," the statement said.

"To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and DGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show on Monday, October 4th," the statement continued. "In the meantime, repeats will be scheduled."

Chris Rock

In mid-September, the comedian revealed that he tested positive for the coronavirus in a message shared on Twitter.

"Hey guys I just found out I have COVID," he tweeted. "Trust me you don't want this. Get vaccinated."

Rock previously received the COVID-19 vaccine earlier this year, which he revealed during a late-night guest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon back in May.

Tom Brady

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback revealed in an interview with the Tampa Bay Times that he tested positive for COVID in February.

Brady, 44, confirmed that tested positive shortly after the team celebrated their Super Bowl 55 championship with a boat parade.

"I think it's going to be challenging this year," Brady speculated of how coronavirus will impact the upcoming season. "I actually think it's going to play more of a factor this year than last year, just because of the way what we're doing now and what the stadium is going to look like and what the travel is going to look like and the people in the building and the fans."

The NFL star continued, "It's not like last year, although we're getting tested like last year. It's going to be, I definitely think guys are going to be out at different points and we've just got to deal with it."

Gene Simmons

Days after his vaccinated KISS bandmate Paul Stanley tested positive, Simmons announced he was also positive but thanks to his vaccine, experiencing "mild" symptoms. "The band and crew will remain at home and isolate for the next 10 days and doctors have indicated the tour should be able to resume on September 9th at FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine, CA," a statement from the band read.

Paul Stanley

KISS' Stanley tested positive for COVID-19 in late August.

The band announced just before they were due to take the stage on Aug. 26 that the Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, show was canceled.

"Tonight's #KISS show at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, PA is unfortunately postponed due to Paul Stanley testing positive for COVID," the band said in a statement on Twitter Thursday, promising that more information about changes to upcoming shows "will be made available ASAP."

"Everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated," the statement added.

"PEOPLE!!! I am fine! I am not in ICU!" the rocker — whose age puts him in the "at-risk" category — tweeted. "My heart allows me to do 26 miles a day on my bike! I don't know where this came from but it's absolute nonsense."

The band's Thursday statement said that Stanley's breakthrough case comes despite stringent safety protocols that have been followed throughout KISS' End of the World Tour, which has upcoming performances scheduled in North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin and California.

Hilary Duff

The Younger star shared the news on Aug. 20 that she'd contracted a breakthrough case of the virus just days after production began for the upcoming How I Met Your Mother sequel series.

"That delta...she's a little bitch," Duff wrote on her Instagram Story, adding that she had a "bad headache" and had lost her sense of taste and smell. She also said she felt sinus pressure and "brain fog."

"Happy to be vaxxed," the actress concluded, adding a peace sign emoji.

Rev. Jesse Jackson

Rev. Jesse Jackson and his wife Jacqueline Jackson were hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19 on Aug. 21.

The civil rights leader and his activist wife are currently being monitored at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, according to a statement from his organization, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition.

"Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. (79) and Mrs. Jacqueline Jackson (77) have both tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and are in Northwestern Hospital. Doctors are currently monitoring the condition of both. Anyone who has been around either of them for the last five or six days should follow the CDC guidelines," wrote the nonprofit.

"There are no further updates at this time. We will provide updates as they become available," concluded the statement, which was further authorized on behalf of their son and spokesman, Jonathan Jackson.

Corey Taylor

The Slipknot musician was forced to call off his appearance at a Michigan pop culture convention after testing positive for the coronavirus, Rolling Stone reported. Taylor first shared the news in a video posted on Aug. 20 on the Facebook page for Astronomicon, the event where he was scheduled to appear the following Saturday and Sunday.

"I wish I had better news. I woke up today and tested positive, and I'm very, very sick," he said. "So I'm not gonna be able to make it this weekend. And I am absolutely devastated. I am so sorry."

The Stone Sour singer assured fans he "should be okay" and said that because he was vaccinated, he was "not worried" about his illness. "But I certainly wouldn't want to spread it to anyone else," he added. "So, everybody be safe out there. And thank you so much. And I will see you again, I promise."

Senators Roger Wicker, Angus King and John Hickenlooper

In late August, all three senators — one Republican, one Independent and one Democratic — announced they were COVID-positive despite all being vaccinated. The offices of the men shared the news on Twitter, per CBSNews.com; each was isolating and experiencing only mild symptoms if any.

Barry Sanders

In an Aug. 20 tweet, the former football star said he tested positive.

"Despite being double vaccinated, wearing a mask, and taking all the precautions I could... I tested positive for COVID," he wrote. "I don't have any symptoms, but am staying in until I get the green light from the Docs. I will be ready to go for @49ers on 9/12 @Lions @NFL," added the Detroit Lions ambassador.

Melissa Joan Hart

The Sabrina the Teenage Witch alumna revealed her diagnosis in a two-minute video shared to her Instagram in August, saying that she likely caught the respiratory virus from one of her children.

"I am vaccinated and I got COVID, and it's bad," she said told fans. "It's weighing on my chest. It's hard to breathe. One of my kids, I think, has it so far. I'm praying that the other ones are okay."

The actress — who shares sons Tucker McFadden, 8, Braydon Hart, 13, and Mason Walter, 15, with husband Mark Wilkerson — went on to explain that she and her family had taken precautions throughout the pandemic, but "got a little lazy" as restrictions were lifted.

"I think as a country we got a little lazy and I'm really mad that my kids didn't have to wear a mask at school. I'm pretty sure where this came from," she said.

Gov. Greg Abbott

A spokesman, Mark Miner, announced the Republican Texas governor's test result in a statement on Aug. 17.

Miner said it was a breakthrough infection as Abbott was "fully vaccinated" and that he remains in "good health" and was "currently experiencing no symptoms."

"The Governor has been testing daily, and today was the first positive test result," Miner said. "Governor Abbott is in constant communication with his staff, agency heads, and government officials to ensure that state government continues to operate smoothly and efficiently."

Miner added that Abbott was receiving Regeneron's monoclonal antibody treatment, was isolating in the governor's mansion and would continue to take daily COVID-19 tests.

"Everyone that the Governor has been in close contact with today has been notified," Miner said.

Drake

The rapper didn't say when he was diagnosed, but in August 2021 revealed that he had the virus and it led to hair loss, which is finally improving now.

Drake shared the news on a fan's Instagram post, where they had made fun of his hairline.

"That heart is stressed 💀😭," the fan wrote, referring to a small heart that Drake has shaved into the top left of his head.

"I had COVID that s--- grew in weird I had to start again 😂," the "Hotline Bling" singer responded.

Jonathan Davis

Korn frontman Davis tested positive for COVID-19, which prompted the nu-metal band to cancel some August 2021 shows.

"We really appreciate your patience as we work out the next steps for our tour," the group said in a statement released on social media. "On Saturday, we received the unfortunate news that Jonathan tested positive for Covid, and needless to say, we had to postpone the show last minute."

Davis, 50, is now "resting and recovering," though he's in good spirits, according to the band.

DJ Khaled

The hitmaker revealed in early August that he and his family are "all good" after recovering from the respiratory virus, writing to his followers in an Instagram post, "Thank you for all your calls and prayers!"

"My family and I have recovered from COVID and we're all good now," a message shared on his account read. "God is the greatest! God love us and we love God!"

In the caption of his post, Khaled — who shares sons Asahd, 4, and Aalam, 18 months, with wife Nicole Tuck — also urged fan to stay healthy amid the ongoing pandemic.

Anthony Rizzo

The New York Yankees were hit hard by COVID-19 in early August as four players tested positive for the virus.

First baseman Rizzo became the latest player to test positive for COVID-19, the team announced shortly before the Aug. 8 game against the Seattle Mariners.

Manager Aaron Boone told reporters that Rizzo "is doing all right," although he is experiencing some symptoms, per ESPN.

Rizzo — a cancer survivor who joined the team late last month after being traded from the Chicago Cubs — previously revealed that he had chosen not to get vaccinated. As part of MLB health and safety protocols, he will remain in quarantine for at least 10 days.

Sen. Lindsey Graham

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham tested positive for COVID-19 in August, announcing the news in a tweet and saying he is "very glad" that he is vaccinated, as his symptoms would be "far worse" had he not received his shots.

"I was just informed by the House physician I have tested positive for #COVID19 even after being vaccinated. I started having flu-like symptoms Saturday night and went to the doctor this morning," the 66-year-old Republican wrote on Twitter.

Graham continued: "I feel like I have a sinus infection and at present time I have mild symptoms. I will be quarantining for ten days. I am very glad I was vaccinated because without vaccination I am certain I would not feel as well as I do now. My symptoms would be far worse."

Kailyn Lowry & Family

The Teen Mom 2 star revealed during an early August episode of her podcast, Baby Mamas No Drama, that she and her sons had likely contracted the virus during their vacation to the Dominican Republic, and she passed the virus on to her co-host, Vee Rivera.

"For those of you guys listening who don't know, Vee and I have COVID," Lowry told listeners at the beginning of the episode.

The reality star said that, though her family had tested negative while on vacation and after returning, but she began feeling sick a few days later.

This isn't the first time that Lowry has contracted COVID-19, she revealed during Tuesday's podcast episode. She previously tested positive after a trip to Iceland last year, and her son Lincoln also caught the virus in March, she said.

It's unclear if Lowry is vaccinated against COVID-19. However, in April 2020, as researchers were still searching for a safe and effective vaccine, she was asked by a fan whether she would allow herself and her children to be vaccinated once one was available.

"Absolutely not," replied Lowry, who has spoken out against vaccinations in the past.

Soleil Moon Frye's Family

In early August, the Punky Brewster star revealed on Instagram that three of her four children tested positive for the virus, and she urged other parents to get their kids tested should they show symptoms.

"I thought my son had a cold or a fever, I did not know that he had Covid 19. With the encouragement of our doctor I had him tested. He tested positive. I was on my way to a work trip, rushed home and two of my other children tested positive as well," she wrote alongside a summertime photo with her children.

The actress and ex Jason Goldberg are parents to daughters Poet Sienna Rose, 13, and Jagger Joseph Blue, 13, plus sons Lyric Sonny Roads, 7, and Story, 5.

"I want to protect my babies, love them, make them all better, take away the burning fever and tummy aches. I have tried to smile through the fear and nurture them. I have shed many tears. It has brought up a lot for me," she added.

Kevin Connolly

The revealed on a late July episode of Victory The Podcast that he and his newborn contracted COVID and that his baby, 6-week-old Kennedy, was hospitalized.

"It's been hard. It's hard when your kid is sick, you know? Because there's really nothing you can do," he said. "But she's doing great. It's just the congestion part, but the fever is down and we're all back on the road to recovery."

Jay Williams

The ESPN sports commentator announced earlier in July that he had contracted COVID-19, though was feeling "ok" thanks to the vaccine.

"I am covid positive & will not be calling the @nba finals. I am ok & was fully vaccinated," he shared on Twitter.

Piers Morgan

The British media personality revealed his positive status in late July, crediting the vaccine with keeping him alive.

Three weeks into the illness, he posted on Instagram: "Covid — day 21. Looking and feeling like Tom Hanks towards the end of Castaway. Need a Wilson."

Coco Gauff

The U.S. tennis star missed the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for COVID-19, one of several athletes to pull out of the Games because of the virus.

She announced the heartbreaking news on Twitter.

"It has always been a dream of mine to represent the USA at the Olympics, and I hope there will be many more chances for me to make this come true in the future," she tweeted. "I want to wish TEAM USA best of luck and a safe games for every Olympian and the entire Olympic family."

Jeff Ross

The stand-up comedian and Jimmy Kimmel Live! performer announced on the Audacy podcast that he contracted the virus.

"It's one of those things where all my friends were getting it and I got tested just to be careful," Ross said. "The second I got the positive, like three hours later, my body just went 'oh man.' All the symptoms came at once."

Teddi Mellencamp

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared on an episode of Teddi's Tea Pod that she and her husband Edwin Arroyave contracted the virus earlier in the year — but had very different experiences.

"A while back I had COVID and I didn't really talk about it because I was just really focused on making sure that I was healthy and my family was healthy," Mellencamp said on the podcast. "I was vaccinated and my husband was not, which he has since realized what a big mistake that was."

Genevieve Gorder

The Trading Spaces star contracted COVID earlier in July, she shared on Instagram.

"... But I think this is important," she continued. "This really sucks, it feels horrible. But I'm just starting to feel better today where I can do this. I am so grateful to be vaccinated because I know as a person who's had asthma since I was a little girl — and two autoimmunes as an adult — I would be on that hospital table. I would be on the ventilator. I would be the one you were praying about."

Wiz Khalifa

The rapper announced the news on Twitter on July 14, writing, "Okay loved ones....sooo.....Ya boy got covid."

"No symptoms. Just stay away from me for a lil while," he added.

In a follow-up tweet, Khalifa shared that, while he's in quarantine, he'll be focusing on staying creative.

"While im in the house I'll be givin y'all new content, planning raves, and readying this new project," he wrote.

Gabriel Iglesias

The comedian announced his positive diagnosis on July 15 in an Instagram video that was captioned, "Announcement I didn't want to make on my bday." In the clip, he says that he "got tested by two different types of tests and they both came back positive."

"I've been vaccinated and I give credit to that for getting me through this as quickly as it did," Iglesias added.

Iglesias was due to finish out his 73-performance tour with a stop in San Antonio, Texas, but had to cancel so he can quarantine for 14 days. Those who purchased tickets for the San Antonio show will be issued an automated refund, the Tobin Center venue said in an announcement.

Catt Sadler

The entertainment reporter revealed on Instagram in July that she tested positive after caring for her unvaccinated son, 20, initially thinking he had the flu. She warned her followers that "the pandemic is very much NOT over" and that the Delta variant is "relentless and highly contagious and grabbed ahold of me even after getting vaccinated."

She detailed her symptoms in her July 13 Instagram post, sharing that she had two days of a fever, head throbbing, extreme congestion, "even some weird puss coming out of my eye," serious fatigue and "no energy to even leave the bed."

"If you are vaccinated, don't let your guard down," she continued, adding, "**Vaccines lessen the likelihood of hospitalization and death but you can still catch this thing. So continue to protect yourselves."

Bill Maher

The Real Time with Bill Maher host tested positive during the show's routine weekly testing in May, according to a statement shared by the series' Twitter account.

Maher is asymptomatic and "feels fine," the statement said, as he is already "fully vaccinated."

"The Friday, May 14th taping of Real Time with Bill Maher has been cancelled," the statement said. "Bill tested positive during weekly staff PCR testing for COVID. He is fully vaccinated and as a result is asymptomatic and feels fine."

Philip Sweet

Little Big Town announced that singer Sweet (left) was diagnosed with COVID in April during an interview on Audacy. "Well, Philly's not feeling good. We might as well break the news, he's got the COVID," said bandmate Jimi Westbrook. "He seems to be holding off the really bad stuff, just a little not feeling great."

Lead singer Karen Fairchild added, "Over the hump today, he's hoping. ... He is, unfortunately, so sad and missing out on this whole ACM week. But he'll be back soon."

Little Big Town, nominated for group of the year at the 2021 ACM Awards, is set to perform their latest "Wine, Beer, Whiskey" on Broadway during the April 18 broadcast.

Luke Bryan

The country star had to miss the first live taping of American Idol on April 12 after testing positive for COVID-19.

"I'm sad to say I won't be a part of tonight's first live @americanidol show," he wrote on Twitter. "I tested positive for COVID but I'm doing well and look forward to being back at it soon."

Sarah Palin

In late March, the former governor of Alaska and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee-turned-TV personality confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE that she contracted the coronavirus as did some of her family members, including 12-year-old son Trig. She said much of the family lost senses of taste and smell, in addition to fevers and sore muscles.

"As confident as I'd like to be about my own health, and despite my joking that I'm blessed to constantly breathe in the most sterile (frozen!) air, my case is perhaps one of those that proves anyone can catch this," Palin said in her statement.

Jessica Simpson

Simpson shared a health update in an Instagram post in late March as she promoted her upcoming essay for Amazon's Original Stories series.

"This past year has been especially intense for me and so many of you. I started writing this essay on the same day I received a positive test result for COVID-19," she shared in the caption, though she did not go into details about her experience with the virus or say exactly when she was sick.

"I decided instead of being driven by fear, I would manifest a hopeful conversation with you," she continued. "I felt strong, resilient, and God-inspired through my pen teaching me as I was sharing with you ways to get to the other side of fear."

Sandra Lee

On March 29, the chef revealed to fans that her family has had a difficult few weeks, with her aunt, uncle and herself all having recently tested positive for COVID-19. "Personally I had Covid! Now do not have Covid! I do have the antibodies," she explained on Instagram. Detailing some of her symptoms, she added that she chose not to share until now " because I didn't want to bring any attention to it .....certainly not with everything Else already going on. Sweet baby Jesus!"

Karolína Kurková

In a March 2021 interview with Babe by HATCH, the Czech supermodel revealed that she recovered from COVID-19 after being diagnosed with it while pregnant. Kurková is currently expecting her third child with husband Archie Drury, a baby girl they'll name Luna Grace.

"At first, finding out I had COVID while pregnant was unnerving, especially as I didn't know anybody who had it while they were pregnant," she said. "I remember we didn't have symptoms but decided to get tested, and sure enough, the next day, the doctor called with a 'positive' result."

"The first night I was a little scared but went into full-on mama-bear mode. I had to stay vital for everyone," adds Kurková, who is also mom to sons Noah Lee, 5, and Tobin Jack, 11.

She says she then quarantined in her apartment with her husband and two boys with "no help." Thankfully, her symptoms were mild — "but it was still intense," she added.

Charlotte Flair

The 13-time WWE champion announced on Twitter on March 22 that she has tested positive for the virus.

"I know everyone has been wondering where I have been," Flair, 34, began, before explaining, "I tested positive for COVID and have been home resting."

Flair, who is the daughter of wrestling icon Ric Flair, added, "Thank you everyone for your love."

Lauren Alaina

The 26-year-old country star shared a statement on her social media pages on March 20, sharing that she is currently recovering in quarantine.

"I am so sad to say I will not be at the acoustic show in Lexington, Kentucky tonight," Alaina said in a statement. "I tested positive for COVID yesterday. I am quarantining and trying to get better! Please know I can't wait to be back — when it is safe for all of us."

The singer also added a plea for fans to still see the other artists taking part in the show, which was scheduled to take place that evening.

Prince Daniel & Princess Victoria of Sweden

The Royal Court of Sweden announced on Facebook on March 11 that the couple began isolating at home with their two children — Princess Estelle, 9, and Prince Oscar, 5 — after Victoria began experiencing cold symptoms the previous day.

The prince and princess were both "showing slight symptoms, but feeling well according to circumstances," the statement said.

Celebrations of Princess Victoria's name day scheduled for that Friday were canceled.

Kim Zolciak-Biermann & Kroy Biermann

On March 2, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star revealed that she and her husband were fighting off the viral respiratory illness in an Instagram Story post from the doctor's office.

"Hubby and I tested + for Covid A few days ago! Been a hell of a ride!" Kim shared alongside a photo of herself and the former football player hooked up to IVs. "Very thankful for our Dr's and a HUGE thank you to [Chris Tuff] for keeping us healthy and Piedmont Infusion Center as well THANK YOU SO MUCH!!"

"You guys rock! Thank you for all you do," the reality star added. "My nurses were absolutely phenomenal."

Trisha Yearwood

The country star's husband Garth Brooks announced that after exposure to a team member who had COVID, Yearwood tested positive and was experiencing symptoms.

"Officially, she's diagnosed as 'on her way out of the tunnel' now, though, which I'm extremely thankful for," Brooks said. "Anyone who knows me knows my world begins and ends with Miss Yearwood, so she and I will ride through this together."

Donna Karan

Shortly after receiving her first dose of the vaccine, the designer discovered she'd had recent exposure, and tested positive for COVID herself. She later posted that after time in the hospital, she was feeling better, and thanked the nurses and other healthcare workers for their care.

Gwyneth Paltrow

In a post on her Goop website, the actress revealed that she'd had COVID very early on in the pandemic, but is still dealing with long-haul effects from the disease.

"It left me with some long-tail fatigue and brain fog," she wrote, adding that she was trying an anti-inflammatory diet to attempt to mitigate the symptoms.

Maynard James Keenan

The Tool frontman disclosed that he had been diagnosed with COVID twice at the end of 2020, and both times experienced difficulty breathing and coughing fits.

He said he was still suffering from lung damage and had frequent coughing fits, plus other effects: "I had an autoimmune attack on my system in the form of, like, a rheumatoid arthritis. Basically, from what I understand, it attacks weird spots and it's random. So that's what I got. That was my prize."

Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi

The 33-year-old Jersey Shore alumna celebrated Valentine's Day at a distance this year, as she has tested positive for COVID-19, she revealed on Instagram.

"Happy Valentine's Day! This ones a bit different....I have Covid. I've been isolated in my room since I found out. My family & I have been super cautious & careful, so this is super scary," the mother of three wrote in her caption.

Polizzi shares sons Angelo James, 20 months, and Lorenzo Dominic, 8, plus daughter Giovanna Marie, 6, with husband Jionni LaValle. They have all tested negative, she added, and she is isolating in her bedroom.

Describing her symptoms, Polizzi said they "started out as just a bad sinus cold" and "headache, stuffy nose & mild cough." She added that she then felt "super tired and ended up napping all day which made me go get tested."

Shawn Johnson East

The former Olympic gymnast, who is expecting her second child with husband Andrew East, has tested positive for the coronavirus, she revealed on her Instagram Story on Jan 31.

"Got my results back today and they came back positive for Covid," she said.

"Not going to lie... I'm nervous knowing I'm positive," added Johnson East, 29, who is mom to 15-month-old daughter Drew Hazel. "It's been a long two weeks of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) with Drew and now this... my body is exhausted."

She explained a few of the reasons why she was worried after her positive diagnosis. "1: I don't want to get my family sick. 2: I have asthma and have had it my entire life so this scares me a little extra. 3: had a very close family member fight for his life last month while battling Covid so it's a serious topic of concern/hits home in our household," she explained.

"So far, I have a cough, terrible sore throat and headache. Fatigue for sure but... that's pregnancy haha," she said of her symptoms. "Not looking for any kind of pitty [sic] party. Just a reminder to take care of yourself. Drink an extra water tonight and wash your hands."

Nick Cannon

The comedian has tested positive for COVID-19, PEOPLE confirmed on Feb. 3.

Cannon, 40, is currently in quarantine and resting, a representative for the star told Variety, which was the first outlet to report the news.

Cannon will be taking a break from his hosting duties on The Masked Singer, according to the outlet, and will be temporarily replaced by Niecy Nash for the first few episodes of the season.

Andrew Yang

New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), he announced on Feb. 2.

"After testing negative as recently as this weekend, I have taken a positive COVID rapid test," the politician, who ran in last year's presidential election, said in a tweet. "I'm experiencing mild symptoms, but am otherwise feeling well & in good spirits. I'm quarantining & adhering to public health guidelines until I can get back out on the campaign trail."

"Evelyn already has me very well-contained and cared for," Yang, 46, added in another tweet, referring to his wife Evelyn Yang. He continued, "in all seriousness if you want me to feel better donate to my campaign! Then I can relax."

Michael Strahan

On Jan. 28's Good Morning America, Strahan's co-hosts, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Amy Robach, addressed his absence at the top of the show, explaining that their co-host had been diagnosed with the virus but is doing "well."

"We know that you have noticed that Michael has not been here with us this week. He wanted us to let you know that he has tested positive for COVID and is at home, quarantining right now," Roberts said.

"So many of you have reached out to him and asked about him and he says, 'Thank you,' for the concern and well wishes. He's also feeling well and looking forward to being back here shortly," Stephanopoulos began before adding, "You should know that all of us here — both in front of the camera and behind the scenes — have been cleared by Disney to be here after contact tracing and following CDC guidelines."

Dave Chappelle

The comedian tested positive for COVID-19, a representative confirmed to multiple outlets on Jan. 22. His upcoming shows in Austin, Texas have been cancelled.

The statement added that the comedian, 47, "has safely conducted socially-distanced shows in Ohio since June 2020 and he moved those shows to Austin during the winter. Chappelle implemented COVID-19 protocols which included rapid testing for the audience and daily testing for himself and his team. His diligent testing enabled him to immediately respond by quarantining, thus mitigating the spread of the virus."

The actor is not currently experiencing any symptoms of COVID, according to the rep.

Karl-Anthony Towns

The Minnesota Timberwolves star revealed on Jan. 15 that he tested positive, months after losing his mother to the virus.

"Prior to tonight's game, I received yet another awful call that I tested positive for COVID," Towns began in a statement posted to Twitter and Instagram. "I will immediately isolate and follow every protocol."

As a result of his positive test, the Timberwolves' game against the Memphis Grizzlies was postponed. In his statement, the 25-year-old athlete called on his fans to take the virus seriously and "stop the spread."

"I pray every day that this nightmare of a virus will subside and I beg everyone to continue to take it seriously by taking all the necessary precautions," Towns wrote. "We cannot stop the spread of this virus alone, it must be a group effort by all of us."

His girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, wrote a supportive message in the comments section of his Instagram post. "Praying for you baby. You got this. God's got you," she shared.

Liv Tyler

The actress shared that she tested positive for the virus on New Year's Day and had to quarantine away from her family, including daughter Lula Rose, 4, and son Sailor Gene, 5.

"I missed My babies beyond but they visited my window and called up to me and I watch them play outside. Such a gift. They sent little messages and drawings under my door," she wrote on Instagram. "Reminders of what's on the other side. What to get better for."

Andy Murray

Ahead of the Australian Open, the professional tennis player tested positive and will not be taking part in the annual tennis tournament.

"Andy Murray has advised that he has tested positive to COVID-19 and is isolating at home in the UK," the tournament's Twitter account announced in a statement on Jan. 14.

"Unfortunately this means he will be unable to join the official AO charter flights arriving in Australia in the coming days to go through the quarantine period with the other players."

The statement added: "The AO fans love Andy, and we know how much he loves competing here in Melbourne and how hard he'd worked for this opportunity."

Brielle Biermann

On Jan. 13, the reality star shared on her Instagram Stories that she has had the virus for about two weeks, and has been isolating herself while she recovers.

"I've had covid (still recovering but I'm doing good today!!)" she wrote in one slide, adding that it's the first day in a long time that she's worn makeup because she had several virtual meetings to attend while still quarantining.

"Shoutout to Kroy who has been delivering me my necessities at the stairs. He's been bringing me all my clothes and food. He even brought me milk and cookies the other night," Brielle said of her step-father — though her mom, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, later clarified on her own Instagram Story that it was she who provided the sweet treats.

Jon Gosselin

In a clip from his appearance on The Dr. Oz Show on Jan. 14, Gosselin said he came close to being put on a ventilator after testing positive for the virus.

"So if your doctor thinks that even one more day of delay would have led you to being on a ventilator, which of course takes the mortality rate up dramatically, then you actually were walking that tightrope," host Dr. Mehmet Oz told Gosselin, who is now recovering at home.

"Yeah, I had a really bad COVID pneumonia based upon my numbers," Gosselin revealed. "Now, what's interesting is I didn't feel it. I didn't feel sick and I didn't feel pain ... but when you went to move or do anything and you felt so weak and you wanted to pass out, it was really scary."

"If my urinals were full, I had to stand up and use the bathroom, I would fear it because I'm like, 'Oh my God, I'm going to pass out. I can't breathe,' " he continued. "I called the nurse and I felt guilty calling the nurse all the time. Like, 'Can you just help me get this? Can you help me do that?' Everything, you feel like an invalid."

"You go from perfectly healthy one week to you can't do anything the next week," he added. "It was so weird. It's still weird now."

Grimes

The singer told fans on Jan. 8 that she "finally got COVID but weirdly enjoying the Dayquil fever dream 2021."

Grimes made the announcement on her Instagram Stories, but did not disclose exactly when she tested positive or if husband Elon Musk or son X Æ A-12 Musk have been affected by the virus.
