The Who – Live At The Isle Of Wight Festival 1970

While this is a nice package and pressing, and the gold vinyl looks great, this live recording and performance just doesn’t come close to Live at Leeds. To me that is still the benchmark of live Who. Still enjoyed this 3 LP set and happy to add it to my collection.

This is indeed a three-record set, and it's a full set from The Who in their prime. Entwistle's bass is a bit muddy during the intro track "Heaven and Hell" but after that things improve nicely. They tear through an energetic performance of the TOMMY segment, "Water" is a highlight early in the set, Daltrey conjures a good Howlin' Wolf impression on "Spoonful", and "Naked Eye" is probably the best version I've ever heard. This pressing sounds good, the mix feels more 'in your face' than the 1996 US CD release. My copy is in excellent condition, and plays flawlessly with no discernable surface noise at a relatively high volume.

I don’t know how this title got mislabeled as a 2 lp set on Discogs, but it is definitely a 3 lp set pressed on beautiful marbled gold vinyl, which I have posted above in the images section for this particular release.

Does anyone have this edition, I bought it and found the generic inner sleeves, is it like this or they are missing.

Mine came today as Gold vinyl as well? Not finding this variant on discogs? Came with hype sticker stating "50 year anniversary" which makes it a 2020 pressing?Anyone know about this release? Sound is maximum overdrive. Vinyl is quiet and the gold color has some swirling effect to it. Gatefold jacket is sufficiently heavy 1 disc on left and the other 2 discs on the right.
Appears to be 180 gram vinyl as well

I have this version, but it's on Gold colored vinyl. Was also told this Gold version was a Promo.
Can anyone chime in?

One of my favorite live albums ever. Just so much material across these 3 discs. Beautifully packaged, and the blue record with the bullseye label are a nice gimmick. That gimmick doesn't make up for the cutting of the stage banter. That's what originally drew me to this live set so much. That omission is what brings this down from 5 to 4 stars. That and the scratch left on one of my discs. The music is a perfect 5/5 tho.

I want to buy this edition, but you say that some comments are missing between one song and another as in the white edition, but checking the minutes of the first black edition of 1996, the songs have the same duration, so the comments have been cut or not ? thanks

wow!! like this needed yet another reissue as a 3 lp set, i must have a good 5 different color vinyl pressings of this except for the black pressing i got 20 years ago in 2000 when this first came out on vinyl, anyway here we are in 2020 and i got another copy, this one was released on the ear music classics label and all 3 records are pressed on thick orange vinyl, the inner sleeves are very nice to, i just dont like when songs fade out a bit early and some of roger , pete and keiths stage banter is edited out, regardless this is still a beautiful orange color 3 lp set!! not sure how many of these where pressed

this is a really nice japan shm remastered mini lp cardboard sleeve replica of the 3 lp reissue that first saw the light of day back in 2001, this sleeve was issued somewhere between 2007 and 2009, this japan cd sounds fantastic!!!!!! this comes with inserts with both english and japanese text, also comes with a nice obi strip and again SOUNDS GREAT!!!
