Vaskar P It's very strange to see critics has all given it a 0% rating whereas the audience gave it 82%. Feels like all those critics are the only ones who understands a film and and the common public has simply zero knowledge on this topic! I wouldn't have been surprised this much if I atleast saw 10 or 20% ratings from the critics. But all giving them a 0% raises suspicion. As if they are in cahoot! These are the presstitutes. These are the ones pulling India backward! Shame! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review Amit D #Truestory#SuperDirection#Blockbuster#GreatActing#MustWatch. Every Indian must watch this movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review flixster f The Tashkent Files don't give any better understanding of the case. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review r 9 Great film, probably the most I've enjoyed a Bollywood film so far. 'The Tashkent Files' isn't a typical Hindi film, at least compared to the ones I've watched thus far. It takes its time with the story and properly sifts through it, without any songs shoehorned in. I thoroughly felt entertained by it, despite a potentially damaging 144 minute run time. There are some very good performances from the cast. Shweta Basu Prasad is no doubt the star, she puts a lot of emotion into the role of Raagini. Mithun Chakraborty is extremely likeable as Shyam, he keeps the film moving when the focus comes away from Prasad. Naseeruddin Shah is the most noteworthy of the rest, who are all pleasant to watch. I had no knowledge of Lal Bahadur Shastri before this, so it was very interesting to learn bits and pieces about this period of India's history - even if it features disputed elements and the usual creative license that films use. I think they tell it very well, with/without the aforementioned. I watched this on the UK's Zee Cinema channel, who broadcasted a version with a crap tonne of censorship over names, countries, organisations etc. It actually turned into an amusing little game to try and guess what was behind the blur! In seriousness though, this is most definitely worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express The entire film is a series of eye-roll moments, pockmarked by dialogue that's unintentionally hilarious. We don't really have to wait for the big reveal to see the purpose of the film. Rated: 0/5 Apr 12, 2019 Full Review Jyoti Sharma Bawa Hindustan Times Political propaganda is not the worst of its sins, alas. A communal speech by Pankaj Tripathi's character is painful to watch; he warns of a certain community poisoning the entire country and attacking India with its army. Rated: 1/5 Apr 12, 2019 Full Review Rahul Desai Film Companion The problem here isn't the director's leaning or his point-of-view. It's the way he chooses to camouflage it - that is, the way he chooses to quasi-intellectualize his storytelling skills in order to hide his rather simplistic sense of reasoning. Rated: 1/5 Apr 12, 2019 Full Review Devesh Sharma Filmfare The acting, thanks to the melodramatic nature of the film, is loud and over the top, the dialogue sound bombastic at times. Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 12, 2019 Full Review Kennith Rosario The Hindu With no conviction and utter confusion, the film is evidently more drama than reality. Apr 12, 2019 Full Review Nandini Ramnath Scroll.in The rigour that was needed to prove Agnihotri's thesis is missing, and the biliousness of his selective targeting robs The Tashkent Files of its attempt to being an effective conspiracy thriller.
