Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey's animated rendition of the nativity, The Star, tells the original Christmas tale through the eyes of the animals.
From Ruth, the shepherd's sheep, to Deborah and Cyrus, the wisemen's camels, the movie recounts the biblical Christmas story from an unconventional viewpoint.
The movie hits theaters Nov. 17.

Steven Yeun as Bo
Yeun voices Bo, a donkey who tries to help Mary and Joseph on their journey to Bethlehem. Despite his small stature, Bo believes he is destined for big things.
Yeun is known for his role as Glenn in the Walking Dead and the new film Okja.

Gina Rodriguez as Mary
It's probably only fitting that Rodriguez plays the Virgin Mary after her rise to fame as Jane Villanueva on the award-winning series Jane the Virgin. The movie depicts Mary as strong, confident, optimistic and kind to others.
Rodriguez also appears in the upcoming animated films Ferdinand and Smallfoot.

Zachary Levi as Joseph
Levi voices humble carpenter Joseph, Mary's husband and partner in her journey to Bethlehem.
Levi is no stranger to animated films as he has voiced Flynn Rider in Disney's Tangled and the animated series spinoff and Toby in Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Keegan-Michael Key as Dave
Key plays Dave, a wise-cracking dove who is Bo's best friend.
In addition to his variety sketch series Key & Peele, Key is known for his work in the Lego Movie, Keanu and MadTv and can also be seen in the upcoming film The Predator, which is set to hit theaters in 2018.

Aidy Bryant as Ruth
Bryant voices Ruth the Sheep, a smart and helpful sheep who left her flock to follow the new start in the sky.
Bryant has appeared in TV series including Saturday Night Live and Girls and recently starred in the summer release The Big Sick.

Oprah Winfrey as Deborah
Winfrey plays Deborah, one of the three "not-so-wise" camels. Of the trio, Deborah is the only one actually paying attention to what's really going on.
Winfrey has appeared in several animated films, from Disney's The Princess and the Frog to the Bee Movie. The Oscar-winning actress and producer can be seen in the upcoming films Wrinkle in Time and Terms of Endearment.

Tyler Perry as Cyrus
Perry voices Cyrus, a know-it-all camel and one of the companions to the three wisemen.
Perry is known for his character Medea and has written and starred in many films chronicling her misadventures from Madea's Family Reunion to the upcoming film Boo 2! A Madea Halloween, which hit theaters last month.

Tracy Morgan as Felix
Morgan plays Felix, another camel who is not sure if he really knows anything.
He is best known for his work on Saturday Night Live, where he played several characters, and 30 Rock.

Ving Rhames as Thaddeus
Rhames plays Thaddeus, a vicious palace dog who is intent on hunting down Mary, Joseph and Bo.
Rhames is known for his work in Pulp Fiction, Dawn of the Dead and the Mission Impossible series.

Gabriel Iglesias as Rufus
Gabriel Iglesias plays Rufus, a vicious palace dog who is more focused on his next meal.
Iglesias is no stranger to animated films as his voice can be heard in several movies, including the Smurfs, Ice-Age and in the upcoming films Show Dogs, Ferdinand and Coco.

Kelly Clarkson as Leah
The original American Idol winner will voice Leah, a horse who loves being in the spotlight.
Clarkson has performed in the soundtracks of several movies from Disney's The Princess Diaries to Office Christmas Party.

Anthony Anderson as Zach
Anthony Anderson plays Zach, a nervous and paranoid goat.
The Emmy-nominated Black-ish star also voices a role in this year's Ferdinand.

Kristin Chenoweth as Mouse
Chenoweth voices Deborah the Camel's tiny pal, Mouse, who has a big mouth and a big tale to tell.
The Broadway superstar's voice also was recently heard in the animated film My Little Pony: The Movie, which hit theaters last month.

Kris Kristofferson as Old Donkey
Kristofferson plays Old Donkey in the upcoming film. The character is a curmudgeon and a longtime worker at the mill who wants Bo to stop wasting his time on big dreams.
The singer-turned-actor is known for his work in the Blade series.

Christopher Plummer as King Herod
Plummer plays King Herod, the contemptuous ruler of Judea who is determined to destroy the coming newborn King and ruin the first Christmas.
Plummer is known for his work in A Beautiful Mind and The Sound of Music, among others. He will also hit the big screen in another Christmas classic this season as Ebenezer Scrooge in The Man Who Invented Christmas.
