About
The Springer Opera House is a beautifully restored Edwardian style Opera House that was built in 1871. This National Historic Landmark was named the State Theater of Georgia by Governor Jimmy Carter in 1971. Today it is the region's premeire professional theatre that annually produces 13 shows with talent from Los Angeles to New York. It is the home of Springer Theatricals, the national touring arm of the Springer that performs in cities throughout the United States and Canada. It is also the home of the Springer Theater Academy, an extensive year-round training program for young actors and largest theater academy in the southeast.

This is an excellent venue to see local produced plays. We saw "A Tuna Christmas" here and was very impressed with the theatre. The show was funny and well worth the price of admission.

This testament to Columbus history still charms people today with its elegant beauty and array of productions throughout the year. It reflects the commitment to culture from the city's early days and remains as the state's official theater.

The Springer, located downtown Columbus, is a great place for family entertainment. WE have been several times. There is always a fun, family oriented production going on. Always a lot of fan involvement and very detailed. I highly encourage yall to check it out when in town.

The Springer is a beautiful old grand building in historic downtown Columbus. They really offer very good shows with excellent talent. Their pre-show dinners are quite good and make going to see a play that much easier and enjoyable. Parking is fairly easy to find close by. Almost all the seats offer good views. The tickets are reasonably priced.

This is a fantastic place to see a show. Not only do you get to bask in the history of one of the oldest and beautiful still operating stage theaters in Georgia (if not the southeast U.S.), but you will also get a great show.

I have seen many shows here, but my favorite was Les Miserables.

Unforgettable.

My wife and I were interested in seeing the Springer - expecially as it had been restored in recent years and we had not seen it since. We were fortunate to stumble upon the General Manager. She generously showed us around the Springer, which is actually a living, breathing complex of stages, schools, actors' residences, costume and stage-making and an authentic Saloon, just like it was in the 1800's. See if you can get a tour - you will love it!

I attended a conference at Springer. It was clean and friendly facilities. Lovey furniture and chairs would make an excellent place for photos. It made the conference comfortable. I would have loved to see a show but they were in between productions which is why the conference could be held.

My daughter had a dance recital in Nov 2018 that was at the Springer. I couldn't get over how beautiful it was inside, and had a real feel of a lot of history there. I later found out one of my relatives was one of the builders :)
