Mary H This movie is not what you would expect, and that is the point. You the audience learns more as the townspeople do about the Sisterhood. This movie is a lot like The Crucible in the sense that it centers around a town that persecutes the Sisterhood as cultish and satanic while not recognizes the members of the so-called cult are innocents. The story ends with a tragedy and a message of forgiveness for past wrongs; therefore, it is not without merit for the story it tells, even if it seems like just another teen coming of age story. The acting was well done and the only criticism I have of it is the parents' unwillingness at times to listen to their daughters--although they eventually do. This further strengthens the forgiveness on the part of the main characters at the end of the movie and their own growth and their growing maturity in relation to each other and their parents and peers. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/04/19 Full Review Audience Member Engaging, endearing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Stephen S Very good. An interesting film that makes you question your initial interpretations of the film. I love its style and narration. I also enjoy how the message of the movie changes throughout. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/03/15 Full Review Audience Member If this were made in the 1980s, it would've been a classic. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The Sisterhood Of Night offer unique perspectives on teen flick. Brilliantly use the current a social media era and mysterious witch trials to share their deepest dreams, pains and desires, then renewing their bond of friendship, which delicately convey of teenage girl power plays, jealously, and loneliness. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member What could have been just another teen movie, turns into a study on parent-child relationships that thanks to very solid performances by all its young and talented actresses, leaves you puzzled while you try to figure out the truth. A diferent kind of witchcraft that is a must see for all parents and their children. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Justin Chang Variety It does offer an appreciably even-handed, non-judgmental panorama of teens and adults flailing their way toward a place of greater empathy and understanding ... Apr 15, 2015 Full Review Ken Jaworowski New York Times Even with sections recalling both "The Crucible" and an "Afterschool Special," it still fashions a story that's fairly fresh and often absorbing. Apr 9, 2015 Full Review Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times The film has an odd pace to it, relying on genre expectations to hurtle headlong into the story initially, but it ultimately ends up defying those expectations with its messages about online bullying, predatory media and more. Apr 9, 2015 Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) [Great because of] its frankness about the darker aspects of the “online generation,” how critical it is of helicopter parenting, and how frank it is about how isolating it can be as a teenager without friends. Feb 13, 2024 Full Review Peg Aloi Patheos The uplifting ending is not necessarily in keeping with Millhauser's pensive, downbeat tone. But it's a hard-won redemption that trumpets exuberantly in favor of young womanhood's need for shouting, singing and silence in equal measure. Aug 8, 2017 Full Review Sherilyn Connelly SF Weekly The Sisterhood of Night actually holds enough interesting ideas for several movies, but they aren't always well served by Waechter's flashy, hyperkinetic style.
