I enjoy Lauren Weisberger's books, they're usually similar, and not too involved.....but that's what I like about them! Sometimes a girl just needs an entertaining and quick read. This one was witty and funny, and the character was easy to like and root for.

Some people have noted that the author didn't research the game enough - I actually thought it was fine. Partly because I wasn't reading this for the insight on the WTA tour. But the story line was predictable and not just predictable, it was boring. It could have been exciting. The characters were too black and white and therefore I didn't really care about them either way. You were supposed to either love them or hate them except I didn't. I didn't care about the main character or any other characters.
The scenes where the character plays matches weren't great either. It sounded like they were written by amateurs pretending to be tennis players. If you're playing a match and you hit a serve that is good, you do not think "thank goodness for the years of muscle memory!"
I did not enjoy this. I knew it wouldn't captivate me, but it didn't even entertain me.
It is a very glossy look into the life of a tennis player on the tour, and if course it is fiction so it's not going to be that in depth. Charlotte is an engaging character but seems a bit idiotic at times. I'm glad she showed courage in the end to finish two horrid relationships and think about what mattered to her.
I wish it had been edited better, people are visibly recoiling/flinching left, right and centre!
It is a good book to while away the hours if your interest in tennis is low, but if you follow the game some parts may irritate you.
An enjoyable book that's difficult to put down.
Ok, I realise most people who will be reading this won't be particularly expert in tennis, but why get such basic things wrong? There is a great book to be written about the tennis circuit, but this certainly isn't it.
