Season 1 – The Shivering Truth

      2018 Comedy Animation List
Reviews 88% Fewer than 50 Ratings Audience Score "The Shivering Truth" seeks to access the unconscious mind with its new stop-motion anthology comedy that is used to tackle topics on life, death and human nature. Darkly surreal and delicately crafted, it delves into riotous daymares that reek of dream logic. It is a series of loosely-linked emotional parables about stories within stories that seep from the mind and into the real world. Watch as a guy grows hands out of his chest and a little girl goes missing in her own living room in this dark anthology where escape is a fantasy. martin f Maybe my expectations were too high. The surrealist and chilling visuals promised were all there, the show shines by how imaginative and provocative it is with its visuals but... they went for absurd storylines that barely engage you. Everything goes everywhere, nothing make sense it's just a following of beautifully unnerving visuals. Despite all episodes lasting 10 minutes, I felt they were already too long, because their storyline/jokes felt at the same time too stretched and too short. Very disappoint, because I really thought it could be an amazing show... I still have one episode that I loved "Tow and Shell" and it was great because for one time only the show uses its anthology structure to give you a story that develops itself and keep its focus through the 10 minute-run. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The flow of the show is woven together with threads of insanity, a fever dream. It touches on topics in a way I have seen no other show do. Beautifully ordered chaos. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

William Hughes AV Club In its most perfectly realized moments, The Shivering Truth makes the thoughts our minds normally skid away from seem both tangible and real. Rated: B+ Dec 11, 2018 Full Review Dave Trumbore Collider It's complete chaos pulled from a very fertile (and sick) mind, a tapestry of nightmares woven together as a litmus test for the level of sanity (or insanity) in each of us. Dec 11, 2018 Full Review Daniel Kurland Den of Geek The Shivering Truth is the kind of television that you'd use to break someone's mind and we are so very fortunate to have it in our lives.
