The Salton Sea (2002)
This is a great neo-noir thriller directed by D.J. Caruso, starring Val Kilmer and Vincent D'Onofrio. Without saying too much about it, I'll just give the IMDB summary here: "After his wife is murdered, a man drifts into a world populated by thugs and speed junkies." This comes highly recommended with an IMDB score of 7.2/10 and 62% on Rotten Tomatoes. For the more curious, here's a link to some reviews, beware of spoilers!!

Q&A
I believe the down vote was me... It was an accident I was rushing through my reddit app on the ol iPhone and snagged the blue arrow by accident.
I've since retracted the offender and placed the super keen orange arrow (as it deserved). I loved this film except ONE part... The part where I notice that Val's elbows -- are weird and distracting.
Otherwise good pick (golf clap).
haha no worries, much obliged
Whew, thanks mate.
surprised by the instant downvote
My theory is that some of the so-called "Knights of New" (people who hang out on r/all/new and catch new submissions within seconds of being posted) like to hand out downvotes and make stupid comments.
reddit used to give out a special trophy to go in the trophy case of people who haunted the new page and voted and commented, I don't know if they still give it out though. It was intended to show support for brand new submissions but apparently some people have more fun downvoting and making rude comments instead.
I don't know if that's what happened to you or if it was actually a r/filmnoir subscriber who did it. I monitor the new queue of all the subreddits I moderate and upvote any that I feel have been erroneously or maliciously downvoted, or simply to show support for subscribers and visitors.
Thanks!
