- Royalty P2 contributionsA Historical Monument Worth Going To..I didn't expect much of anything going to the Ruins for the first time, I mean, well because really on paper all it is, is a burnt down mansion. Brace yourself for this next part. On the way to The Ruins was the most stunning and picturesque views of the province, the farms of sugar cane stretched for miles and before even arriving it feels like you are being transported into past filled with heritage and culture. Upon arriving I immediately noticed how pristine and well taken care of the grounds were, it didn't seem like a blade of grass was out of place. The allure of "eternal love" started to reminisce on my skin, and I felt tingles across my body. Once you veer about the sheer size and magnificence of the structure, you are breath taken. Then seeing the finer details that are on every crevasse and inch of the structure, you'll begin to see the historical elements that really cause you to begin to appreciate the beauty of the mansion. It was a surreal experience. In the day time-it's one thing. Visiting the Ruins at night is an entirely different experience, that's when it becomes a dream of a sight and place to be.Visited May 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 5, 2023

It's my third visist in Bacalod when I had finally got the chance to visist The Ruins. We we're on a Business trip and decided to do a side trip before we head to th airport since our departure flight is scheduled at 9pm.
The attraction for me is very romantic that they offer packages for special occassions. They maintainerd the place but I actually expected more from this.
THere's a cafe where you can dine and chill after you tour the place.
If you have a few hours to spare before going back to the airport, this is a good add on to your iterinary because It's on the way.
Note that there's no public transport that passes by here aside from taxi, grab or private cars.

First timers to Bacolod should not skip a visit to The Ruins.
On this trip , we actually had to go there twice as the first time we attempted to visit, it was closed for a function.
We finally made it on our last afternoon and our overseas guests enjoyed listening to the guide telling us the history of the place as well as showing us the best spots to take pictures. He even knew how to take “trick” shots which came out very nicely.
There’s an extensive garden now which wasn’t there on my last visit. Perfect for events like weddings or birthday parties.
Nice way to spend the afternoon!

Very interesting and poignant history about the place: who built it, for what purpose, how it was built and why it was eventually burned down. Not only was our guide knowledgeable, he was totally entertaining. Although what remains is a burned down shell of what was once an elegant mansion, the grounds are well kept, with a number of areas suitable for photo ops. Tip: get a guide when you visit, so you can appreciate the history of the place and have nice photos taken from strategic points around the mansion.

This was closed during our visit due to a private event.
Luckily we were able to get inside and see it at least for a couple of minutes.
The whole "ruins" itself is not that big but what they have done in the place is maybe the highlight of it. It gives a kind of European vibe.

It was my dream to visit The Ruins and I was in awe of how grand the mansion is. We were entertained by the tour head who used to be a PBB housemate.

What is the cheapest way going to The Ruins from Silay Town Proper and from The Ruins going to Bacolod City?
THERESA147

you can hire a tricycle at 500 pesos for 4 persons, be sure you know how to haggle with the trike driver. He will wait for you at the parking lot.
Hi, how long does it take for us to get to The Ruins from Silay Airport? We plan to take the shuttle. Thanks in advance. :)

What is the cheapest way to get to Bacolod City Center? Are there jeepneys or buses outside the airport?
Malou T
Cebu City, Philippines24 contributions
Hello Ana! If you will travel light, you can walk until the airport gate and hire a tricycle. They have a small terminal just outside the airport and they can take you until Silay City public plaza and from there you can ride either jeepney or Ceres bus until Bacolod City North Terminal if I understood your question correctly. But if you are asking for transportation until The Ruins, from the Bacolod City North Terminal, hire a tricycle parked within the terminal going to The Ruins. I hope this helps!
Can you have picnic in the ruins?
The_RUINS
Talisay City, Philippines
Unfortunately not as we do not have a picnic area with the proper facilities. We also do not allow outside food and drinks to be brought in except water.

Take a CERES bus to Bacolod City and get off at the North Terminal of CERES beside the Pepsi Cola bottling plant. Then, take a tricycle ride to The RUINS.

I dont know if I read it right when I went to The Ruins last last week but they have a shuttle service that drops and picks you from GoHotels to The Ruins.. I dont know the rates. They just put there the time of dropping and picking up. I think that would be more convenient for you. Besides theres nothing much to do there... except when you go there at night (which I havent done). 😂😂
What's the best time to go here?
