Goldie Hawn is back! The beloved comedienne hasn’t hit the big screen since 2002’s “The Banger Sisters,” but she’a finally returning to the multiplex with the comedy “Snatched,” co-starring none other than Amy Schumer as her hapless daughter. The film follows the duo as they embark on what looks to be the trip from hell, with a big twist.

Schumer stars in the feature as Emily, an unlucky-in-love singleton who, after being brutally dumped by her boyfriend on the eve of a long-planned trip to South America, cooks up the idea to take her mom instead. Hawn’s mama character is uptight, adverse to change and terrified of the sun. Surely these two will have a wonderful time on their tropical vacation.

But while that plot alone — a mismatched mother-and-daughter attempt to marry their different ideas of enjoyment in a luxurious locale! — sounds like more than enough to kit out a funny film, “Snatched” has another trick up its sleeve: An ill-fated kidnapping subplot. Get it? Snatched?

The film comes from “Ghostbusters” co-screenwriter Katie Dippold and “Warm Bodies” and “50/50” director Jonathan Levine. It co-stars Christopher Meloni, Ike Barinholtz, Óscar Jaenada, Randall Park, and Wanda Sykes. Check out both the red band and green band trailers for “Snatched” below.

“Snatched” opens in theaters on Mother’s Day weekend, May 12, 2017.
