Well Written Television Continuations Of The Series.
After the abrupt cancellation of the television series in 1982, the first reunion movie premiered in 1988. This film and the following two sequels were produced by New World Television (New World was Marvel's owner at the time) and Bill Bixby's production outfit, which, in association with NBC, took over the Hulk television franchise from former broadcaster CBS. For some reason, showrunner Kenneth Johnson was not invited to contribute to the sequels; in fact, Johnson was unaware of the first one until he saw advertisements for it in the newspaper. Nicholas Correa, who wrote and directed several episodes of the series, sometimes doing only the writing or directing, in addition to being a producer on the show, wrote and directed The Incredible Hulk Returns. Bill Bixby would take over directing and producing duties for the last two sequels in addition to starring as Doctor David Banner. Sadly, the first television film is the last time the opening title sequence from the series would be used. While the plots for both are solid, the movies are sorely lacking the heart which Johnson imbued the series with. The violence is not graphic, and profanity is limited to a few hells and damns, and sexual content is non-existent. For some reason, there are no subtitles on both films, which is a minor drawback as some of the dialogue is very low. But that should not temper your enjoyment of these continuations to The Incredible Hulk. The Incredible Hulk Returns and Trial Of The Incredible Hulk are Not Rated.

These two TV movies were special events for me when I was a kid, but I couldn’t remember them exactly. So glad I could finally rewatch them and they didn’t disappoint. Fun and nostalgic, with Thor and Daredevil and Kingpin. It also has one of the most poignant themes, the “lonely man” theme. Five stars.

The Incredible Hulk TV series! Why they didn't have the fourth I'll never know! Anyway, the first movie, The Return Of The Incredible Hulk, was pretty much like the series, 'cept in this he teams up with Thor! This was a proposed pilot for a series for Thor, but never happened. The second movie, The Trial Of The Incredible Hulk, was quite good. In this he teems up with Daredevil in another proposed series that never materialized. If you watched the series, these compliment it quite well!! RP

The return of the Incredible Hulk and the trial of The Incredible Hulk. The return of the Incredible Hulk came on TV in 1988 I was in 11th grade at the time and I remember Thor being on this so I had to buy this and I was glad I did they were trying to get a spin off TV show with this movie for Thor but it didn't work. The movie was still good..the idea of the Hulk teaming up with Thor was really cool. The trial of The Incredible Hulk in this one they are putting the Incredible Hulk with Daredevil as they was trying to give Daredevil a spin off TV show too. This movie came out in 1989 on television. I really love these two movies because it shows Marvel once again was trying to get their superheroes on TV and not just Saturday mornings but in live action shows. Two great movies on one DVD you can't go wrong. Plus Lou Ferrigno was bigger in these two movies than he was on the original TV show..his muscles were huge in these two movies. People like to fuss about the storylines in these two movies but it is what it is I remember the storylines weren't that great in the original television show but it was still enjoyable and watchable as it is in these two movies. this DVD is for fans of the television show pretty much not to a new generation unless they are introduced to it through the television series first.

The Incredible Hulk Returns is a great TV movie! This Incredible Hulk TV movie was released in 1988. The TV movie aired on NBC back in the late 1980s. You still have the original cast from the TV series, Bill Bixby, Lou Ferrigno, and Jack Colvin. This particular movie David Banner had not transformed into the Hulk in two years and he meets up with an old friend Donald BLake, his character has spiritual connection with Thor. Hulk and Thor actually meet in ths TV movie which makes it worth waiting for! The other Incredible Hulk Movie is the Trial of the Incredible Hulk (1989)! This is second Incredible Hulk TV movie that aired on NBC in 1989. after David Banner meets Lawyer Matt Murdock played by Rex Smith. Matt Murdok is actually DareDevil, the blind Superhero from the Marvel comics universe. This is interpredation of DaveDevil pretty good. Rex Smith does a better job playing the Matt Murdock/DareDevil then Ben Affeck did in DareDevil 2003 movie!! Some how David Banner is accused of a crime he did not commit and DareDevil thinks the Wilson Fisk, aka KingsPin is responsible. Both Incredibl Hulk TV movies are great as well as the special features. There is an Interviews with Stan Lee and Lou Ferrigno. There also a slide show presentation from the TV movies courtsey of Lou Ferrigno! A+ 4 stars

I was disappointed because I read the comics and this wasn't Jack Kirby's Hulk
As a 60 year old man, I am delighted by Bill and Lou. I have watched the entire series and these two television movies...and I am so sad there are no more...but the hulk endures and I will find the Magician...with Bix...all is right with the world...as long as there is a little Bixby and Lou Ferigno. in it..r.

2 dvd anchor bay version
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 24, 2014
I buyed anchor bay release 2 dvd and I didn't regret.
disc one hulk returns with thor (this is an alternative version lookalike asgardian ancient warrior-genius in the bottle of a jerky red curled hair don blake ... why?!?)
special fetures documentary on hulk by stan lee
slide show presentation from the TV movies (slide show is the same in both dvd ...why...?)
in second dvd (hulk daredevil not so bad movie could be better but I like it more than first movie) is included -nice surprise- a full lenght feature starring Ferrigno: STAND TALL. Much interesting 'cause exploits -with many interviews- psichology and motivation of bodybuilders like Ferrigno and his collegues/opponents. Seems a docufiction, but a can call it a documentary ...well is the Ferrigno version of Schwarzy "Pumping iron". So, when special content is a FULL movie I'm always glad!
There is a closed caption in both dvd that you can't select them in menu (why?) and they are not mentioned in any part of the box (why?!?) but you can do it while the movie is running so it's okay,
booklet with some trivia shaped like a comic book
cardboard sleeve
nice artwork
bye bye
