Effective April 24, the rules the USDA is imposing on this facility have changed. Due to new regulations by USDA Animal Care, all birds in our park are now subject to new standards. Additionally, the USDA inspection guide, which is intended to provide updated guidance to the inspectors has changed requiring us to close the walk-through park until further notice. We are working diligently to reconstruct these exhibits to meet the new standards and latest interpretation of the regulations imposed by the USDA on March 8, 2024. While the walk-through park is closed, our drive-through park will remain open for your enjoyment, however, feeding from your car is no longer permitted due to safety concerns for the animals and the public expressed by the government.
You may ride on the wagons and experience feeding the animals under the watchful eye of our staff. Your safety, and the safety of our animals has always been our top priority and this has not changed. If you have any concerns or questions regarding these new rules, please contact USDA Animal Care at 970-494-7478. They are always glad to hear from the public on the vital service they provide protecting you from harm. As we work to comply with these new standards for birds and the ever-evolving interpretation of the regulations by the government, we thank you for your understanding and patience.

We do not close for the winter, only closed on Christmas Day and the first
2 weeks of February 2022 (exact date to come)

Drive thru, playground, picnic area, gift shop, restrooms.
We are planning to restart wagon rides Spring 2022- exact date to come, but
we are currently booking group trips.

Feed buckets (64oz): $3.00 each
School Groups: For every 10 Students, 1 teacher gets in free

(Includes a guided horse-drawn wagon ride tour through our animal park.

“...I think Lazy 5 Ranch is amazing and love how one gets to experience being so up close in person with the animals. The wagon holds about 15 people and there are buckets of food provided (more than enough) to feed the animals. The guides are very knowledgeable...Many people wonder about the safety of being so close to the animals, but I have never felt unsafe. The ride is affordable and I recommend it to any visitor or anyone wanting to do something out of the norm.”
