The President Hotel is an elegant example of late 1930s Classic Art Deco style with recessed corners, framed windows, horizontal banding, decorative wrought iron railings and patterned terrazzo floors. It is located directly on the famous Collins Avenue, minutes away from the famed pedestrian shopping and entertainment center, Lincoln Road Mall, Espanola Drive as well as a vast array of restaurants, cafes and popular night clubs. The location is most ideal for vacationers who want to enjoy and explore the famous beaches as well as all the hot spots in South Beach in walking distance The 64 guest rooms are all different, each appointed with one wall entirely covered with a picture portraying green element of nature and complemented by an accent decorative pattern in a stylish cut-out sequence. Most excitingly, the hotel received comprehensive renovation in 2017 featuring beautiful lobby, hallways, and rooms. The President Hotel rooms include sinks, compact refrigerators, plasma-screen TVs, cable TV, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, essentials, and safe box that can fit your laptop Tastefully renovated in 2008, the hotel includes 2 penthouse suites which feature private balconies and exquisite terraces overlooking Collins Avenue which will enhance your South Beach experience. The lobby now houses the Green Bar and Restaurant which serves breakfast from 7:30am-10:30am, and Happy Hour cocktails from 4pm-8pm. President Hotel proudly introduced exciting new addition of rooftop pool in its left-wing President Villa in 2018 and it is accessible to all the guests. The pool features sun loungers, umbrella, towel, and view on famous Collins Avenue

The staff are friendly enough and rooms are cleaned daily which is good and they provide water, breakfast and beach towels in the resort fee.

Breakfast - kind of a let down! Luke warm scrambled egg, really greasy sausages and what only looks like deep fried breaded turkey steaks. They have bagels and toast and waffles, a few cereals and fruit which is either an apple or banana. Coffee and orange juice included. Not really the healthiest choice of breakfast but I guess depending on how hungry you are you may find something.

The rooms are not noise proof as you can hear everyone above you walking around. Drove me crazy!!

On a positive it’s a superb location but for me the poor breakfast choice would stop me from ever returning.

Unfortunately, I am giving this place 3 stars for location, cleaning staff, and how well maintained our room was. My wife and I stayed here for 6 days, we paid about $600 to not include the resort fees and taxes that brought the total to just under $700.

Breakfast: For the entire 6 days our food was cold like it has been sitting out all day and we woke up pretty earlier to eat breakfast. The coffee was also cold and we waited an hour to receive our food. It was not a buffet style, it was served to us on little plates and we were not able to pick what we wanted because they did not have the items on the menu.

Hotel staff: Cleaning crew was great and made sure we had everything we needed for our rooms and to make sure we were comfortable. Front desk personnel could give a crap about the safety of their hotel guests, and did not care if you made a suggestion about the food or anything we needed. There is a guy in a blue shirt and I am confused on what his job is because every consults with him about everything and he also helps out with breakfast sometimes but he may be the maintenance manager (idk).

Room: Our room was actually pretty comfortable thank God. But, we were literally on the first floor as soon as you walk in and open the door. We inquired about an upgrade because we were here for 6 nights and we were told to try tomorrow morning. The water was burning hot and unbearable so we called maintenance and the problem did not get fixed. Granted our room was clean which is why I gave the hotel 3 stars.

Hotel: Great location! Everyday we came back to our hotel to random people that were not staying at the hotel sitting on the front porch yelling at the people walking by. It was disgusting with cigarette and blunt guts everywhere. Table and chairs were dirty. Random people entered the hotel to utilize the bathroom and bar. It was very uncomfortable and sketchy walking into the hotel. The hotel managers did not say anything or remove the guests from the front of the hotel.

Overall, the hotel managers and the personnel above them need to make a lot of changes, and learn a little hospitality as they are all in the hospitality business. I think my 3 stars is very generous giving our experience and the things we have faced during our stay.

Service from the front desk is great and the complimentary drink each on arrival was lovely. The pool and breakfast are also very nice. Unfortunately our room wasn’t serviced over our two night stay so we had no fresh bath towels on the second night. Lots of noisy guests unfortunately slammed doors all night so perhaps the hotel need new mechanisms on the doors to prevent this. There was also a lot of light from the hallways coming through between the door and door frames.

Just finished up our week long stay at the President Hotel. Overall, not the greatest experience. I am not one to leave reviews but hopefully I can be of assistance to others looking to travel in South Beach. To start off, I understand due to Covid restrictions and new guidelines things are a little different than usual. When we got to our room, it was very clean and what we asked for. However for a "king penthouse" room and the price we paid for that description it was kind of a let down with a very small room and bathroom with only a singular window with a view of the building next door. Also, the photos of the pool make it look a lot better than it is, it is very small and can become over crowded/not relaxing.

The hotel itself was not overly clean to begin with and the pictures do not show an accurate depiction of this but we could look past that. However, days went on without our room being cleaned because they told us they only clean the room every 4 days. Especially during Covid, I feel as though the rooms should be cleaned more thoroughly than usual. We asked everyday for our room to be cleaned and were told no and new sheets would just be thrown on the bed for us to do it ourselves.

I have also seen other reviews saying that the hotel is very open to the public with very little security or monitoring of who was coming in our out and this was extremely accurate and there were always people sitting out on the front steps. Also, the bar is only open from 4-10 and was kind of annoying that we could see the hotel next door with a rooftop pool and poolside bar open all day.

On a positive note, a lot of the staff was amazing. The front desk staff was always very welcoming and the bartenders at night were awesome (great drinks too!) Elliott the pool attendant was the best and could not rave about him more. Also the location of this spot is pretty great being only a block from the beach, but do recommend staying closer in a more secluded area with a private beach.

My friends & I read the reviews from previous clientele and were looking forward to staying at the President Hotel in Miami. The 1930 Art Deco establishment was centrally located to restaurants, beaches, and nite life! The complimentary breakfast from 7:30-10:30 AM was delicious. However, the rooftop pool was much to be desired. My friends & I were so looking forward to swimming in the pool although it was a huge disappointment due to its cloudy waters full of hair strands and dirty surrounding tiles. Previous swimmers etched their initials in the thick dirt... which was just gross. We notified the manager Emily of the lack of pool maintenance. She stated that she would look into it, and get the pool cleaned. She also offered us a resort fee credit for the two days we couldn't use the pool. The following day, the pool water was more transparent (although not like the pictures on their website) and the surrounding tiles were cleaned. We thanked the manager Emily for her prompt attention and response, and we confirmed the credit of the resort fee for the two days. Emily then stated that what she said, "was not guaranteed," and she wasn't crediting our account. Unfortunately what manager Emily says is not always what manager Emily does. Despite this, we enjoyed the rest of our stay with the clean pool and of course Elliot the pool guy who was attentive and entertaining. Free breakfast, free wifi, and free access to the pool are NOT really free. The hotel charges you for all of these in your RESORT FEE (please check your bill). Would not stay here again.

This was a Monday check in. Upon arrival our room was not ready with no estimate of when it would be. Free drink tickets were given to us for their at best makeshift bar serving rot gut mai tai types of sweet specialty drinks for tourists and 21yr olds. Had to pass on that. Complete mayhem at check in desk with I am assuming the manager running in circles attempting to satisfy the many requests of the lobby full of 25yr old social media stars. "Look at me" seemed to be the favored attire and attitude. After an hour or so I stood back in the long line for the front desk which when I was next up didn't seem to matter because at least 6 people walked in and right up to the desk in front of me apparently attempting to resolve their ongoing problems. After that long and tiresome wait the girl behind the counter said that she would give us someone else's room that was ready because they were not there yet and she did. We were in the building next door, front door lock tricky, nice room, be sure to securely lock both doors on the french doors to the balcony or they will just pull right open. Bed comfortable but the floor was as filthy as it gets. Took my shoes off, walked into the shower and as the residual water in the shower wet my feet I made black footprints, just from walking maybe 15 to 20 steps barefoot. Gross. Hadn't been to Sou Beach in quite a few years and was amazed on how it seemed to have transformed from a classy place to a jiggy west coast look at my ride wanna be entitled attitude headache. There was a pair of jeans in the lobby bathroom trash can if that tells you anything. Dinner at Vercace's place that night was expensive but very nice, I recommend that. Bottom line, if the room was ready, the check in line was reasonable and the floor wasn't disgusting I could have overlooked the clientele. Their complimentary breakfast was better than expected. We had just come from a week in Key West and for the love of god what a punch to the head reality check.

The hotel is nothing like advertised in the website. First parking is a problem pay extra or walk a block or si to park your car. The staff (Tiffany her nane she says coz no name tag) was not accomodating, matter-of-fact treatment to us, got the feeling this hotel just wants to charge & take our money. Elevators in the Pelican building not working so we had to lug our bags through the stairs to the third floor. We reserved two rooms & paid the same price but one room had a bathroom like a small closet barely a room to move. Free brekfast & Internet are one of the falsely advertised, you pay for them with extra resort fee. Breakfast is no better, bananas that are about couple of hours before it gies stale, lots of brown spots & you have to carve out the non-edible spots! And yeah you have to clear your plates yourself or the Hispanic lady will give you the evil eye. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels recently in the Hotel Intercon in Bahrain & compared to that stay, it is like night & day. This hotel is by far the second worst hotels I stayed in. Don’t stay in this hotel, find sonething better!

We visited the South Beach over MLK weekend Jan 2020. We booked a last minute trip and didn't realize it was also Art Deco weekend along Ocean Ave. Wow did we luck out! The hotel is charming and has a wonderful boutique feel. The standard king room was plenty big enough for the 2 of us, but I will warn you that the size of the bathroom will make you wonder if you actually would be happier living alone again.

Breakfast was better than anticipated- nothing to write home about, but we had plenty to eat and the coffee was top notch.

The real winner is that the location cannot be beat. 2 blocks to the beach and a great running path and tons of restaurants walking distance. Even a Walgreens across the street for last minute sun screen purchases.

We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel and I would definitely recommend. I Do think it might not be ideal for families since the rooms are a bit small and the pool is located next door- all fairly standard for a hotel of this age.

We stayed here before and after our NCL cruise. I found it on AirBnB and also on Trip Advisor. We got a little better price with the AirBnB, but at the same point, we got a better room when we booked directly. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Lots of people complained about dirty rooms and cockroaches in A LOT of hotels in Miami. Cute place for the included breakfast. We didn't know there was outdoor seating for breakfast, and waited to get a seat due to the small area. So go out back and enjoy that space. The best part is they take your luggage and lock it up before and after check in and out so you can explore Miami without lugging all of your bags, which for us was 9 bags, through town. We'll stay here again for our next adventure stop through Miami. Henry was THE BEST!!

This was not our first stay however, it will be our last. Termites crawling on us, lack of communication from the staff, and the unwillingness of management to rectify the situation have made sure of that. I booked our stay several months in advance. When making the reservations I admittedly made a mistake. I wanted two rooms near each other as one was for our children. I called a couple of weeks prior to our arrival and spoke with the front desk asking to make sure that our rooms would be near each other or at least on the same floor as my children are older. She said no problem and stated that she added notes to our reservation. Upon arrival/check in, our rooms were in two different buildings. Thankfully the situation was taken care of. On our second and last night of our stay, we returned to our room to find termites all over one side of the bed and nightstand. We contacted the front desk and the gentleman working came up to the room and was able to see them for himself. He asked if we had left any windows open and we told him no, as we had not. Plus the termites were on the opposite side of the room from the windows. As the front seat tried to find us another room the termites became worse. We were then told that no rooms were available and that they didn’t even have access to a rollaway bed. We were given 3 blankets and told to sleep in our children’s room. I have been trying to contact the manager since April 9th. Today is April 18th an I have yet to receive a response from the manager. I was able to speak with someone at the front seat that stated we would be receiving a refund for our “resort fees” but that was the best they could do. I’m really disappointed with the way this has been handled. My family and I really enjoyed this hotel and especially their bartender!! Such a shame that poor management has ruined it.
