Shocking service , shocking management attitude. Pricey, SHOCKING SHOCKING Highly recommend other hotels that actually want tourists. South Africans are not wanted. All they want are foreigners with hard currency. Management not interested. I guess the rot starts from the top.

Dear Mr. Botha It is with regret to receive such a review considering. As per our interaction the hotel offers a variety of services and facilities and they are charged and at no stage was any indication or advertisement provided that these services are offered complimentary. I do appreciate that previous years some items were and as explained hotel services change over time especially annually. We look forward to welcoming you back next year and trust that all misunderstandings are now cleared up. Kind Regards, Reinard Korf Operations Manager

We had called 3 times the week before Easter to make and confirm a booking. The info online stated that it was a buffet lunch. In the first phone call the restaurant said that there was no buffet lunch. The second phone call they stated that the buffet lunch WAS happening so we booked. We phoned a 3rd two days before to confirm our booking and everything was in order. When we arrived at the hotel our booking was not there!! And the staff responsible for seating guests prioritized those without bookings over those who had booked! The smug response from the staff at our displeasure was absolutely pathetic. We waited 30minutes and still were not seated. We'll never go here again and will not recommend it. Poor administration and unprofessional staff. Our Easter, which happened to

I was here for a week so I had plenty of time to assess it. I also paid around £170 a night (peak season) and really expected more for the money. THE GOOD * The location is great. * The wifi in the restaurant area was great. And it's not bad in the rooms either. * The staff are mostly very friendly - although it’s a bit hit or miss. * My room was quite a good size. * The breakfast is a pretty good spread with fresh fruit, cereal, the usual cooked stuff and also eggs/omelettes that you can order. * The pool area is quite nice when it's not packed. THE BAD * My pet hate in hotels - there is not ventilation in the toilet. This means only one thing - it’s ventilated straight into the room and, when you walk down the corridor, you will notice that it ventilates into there too! If

One of the worst for value hotels we stayed in. €250 a night and we actually moved out for a few days despite having paid already via travel agent. Pool filthy- smell of chlorine prevails everywhere - couldn't see my hands via dirt and chemicals! Only hotel where we had to use our room key to gain access to our floor when leaving lift- barrier door on every level. A/C in room blew hot air. Loungers "booked by towels" from 8am so nearly impossible to lie out. Rated 4 star- 3 at best but such bad value compared to other 5 and 4 star we stayed in nearby.

Dear Valued Guest Thank you for taking the time to post your review on Tripadvisor. We are obviously very disappointed to note that you did not enjoy your stay with us and chose to leave earlier than planned. Our pool deck, over the festive was admittedly extremely busy and popular. And due to this we had to ensure that the pool was treated accordingly with chemicals every evening. We test, manage and log the pH levels of the pool water on a daily basis to ensure the water in the pool is clean and pH regulated. We have key access on every floor purely for the safety and security of our valued guests. This security feature prevents outsiders from accessing guests areas and thus limiting access only to hotel guests and authorised staff. We do not permit the "booking of pool loungers" and we communicate this to all our guests in a letter that was placed in your welcome pack. Unfortunately, guests often ignore this and continue with this practice although we do try to manage this as best as we can. Once again, our apologies for the unsatisfactory stay. Kind regards Nikki Vardan SALES & MARKETING MANAGER

Did this tour with Virgin in October 15. Bit doubtful over it after booking, couldn't find any reviews on it at all, but it turned out really good fun. It is only a 12 night holiday and one of those was spent flying overnight, so a bit of a swizz on that one. There were 9 of us in the group, no one knew each other beforehand, and we all stayed together for the organised tours but we did have some free time, meals were independent except in Kruger. Note there is a lot of travelling between places and a couple of days are used up by flying between venues. I would recommend that if you go via Dubai you spend 1 or 2 nights there to break the journey up and 1 night on return or add a night on in Zambia. OK so now for individual places we stayed:- President Hotel Nice hotel, only B

I can only say good things about the location and the extremely friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has 60+ rooms per floor and we did get the impression that the hotel is manly used for large Asian tourist groups - of which some had terrible manners. I know that I cannot blame the hotel for that, but the groups made breakfast feel like "war zone". Also the breakfast area was too small for all the crowds. I wouldn't stay again as a couple or family.

Dear veras74, Thank you for commenting on TripAdvisor. I am lad you had a great stay with us and that the staff were friendly and efficient. I am aware of the madness at breakfast regarding the big groups and the Team are looking at ways in which to manage the situation better. I hope to welcome you back to the President Hotel again to enjoy our delicious breakfast, great views and friendly staff. Kind Regards Jeremy Clyton

We booked this hotel for our first stage of our honeymoon where we were doing the garden route. This hotel ticked all the boxes with regards to location, price and also came recommended by a friend who stays there with British Airways. We were upgraded upon checking in to a one bedroom apartment with a sea view. delighted! staff helpful and easy to discuss things and suggestions for eating and taxis etc. room cleaned brilliantly and excellent location for a hop on hop off bus at the end of the street. only a taxi journey to the VA which costs about £5. enjoyed and would stay again. only disappointment was the pool was closed the whole 5 days. if staying a while like us there is a laundrette over the road which was very reasonable. Breakfasts fine the only thing they could do

The bathroom is terrible, no water comes out from the showe and it stinks. The cleaness of the rooms leaves much to be desired. The day I arrived my foot got dark underneath with such filth. I rubbed a wet piece of paper on the floor to show the manager how dirty the floor was. The receptionists don't do much to help you. One of the employees even said she made a car reservation for me, but when I arrived at the rental store, there was no reservation. Breakfast is great, the common areas are very good and the bar and restaurant staff are very attentive and competent. The concierge "Claude" helped us a lot! He has solved most of our problems, He is competent and very helpful. In summary, for the price, the hotel leaves much to be desired, especially for the lack of cleanliness

Help The shower got blocked up and had so much muck coming to the surface it was difficult to stop me vomiting and retching. I called downstairs and asked for housekeeping. NOTHING I called downstairs and asked for Maintenance. NOTHING I called downstairs and asked for Help. NOTHING I kept getting told Engineering comes on duty at 7.00 am SERIOUSLY. Your drain was blocked its overflowing with Crap .The stench and the mess is seeping out of the bathroom. Eventually a helpful kid found a plunger and gave it to me . Still waiting for housekeeping to come and clean the shower the floor and get rid of the towels . Do some regular maintenance. Avoid your guests having to deal with plumbing issues I understand about emergency unforeseen situations BUT regular

The hotel is pleasant. The pool area is nice, gets good sun and you can see the sea. Hotel itself is pleaant, good location 50 yards from the high street and Camps Bay is 10 minutes away in a taxi. The hotel gym is appalling though. It hasn't been unpdated in years and it was even bad when it was first installed. There is space for more and better equipment but the hotel clearly does not rate this as a priority. Three old and clanky cardio machines, a very old and very clanky weights machine, and a very poor selection of dumbells. With a little thought and money they have the space to make a decent gym, but they haven't bothered! But, if that is not your priority for your choice of hotel, then this is a good hotel.

The hotel has plugs for European plugs, but only one in the room. Other plugs are specific for SA. I recommend to get cheap ones from Amazon. Not sure if the hotel has plugs for guests to borrow.

as long as you pay with a credit card you will be covered, but maybe not through an email, go direct to the website to pay, never click a link in an email if you are even slightly unsure.
