My partner and I spent ten nights at the President hotel in January 2018 and honestly had the best time! From the moment we arrived to leaving we thought the service was outstanding and we would definitely return! We booked through virgin so got a free upgrade on arrival and had a lovely spacious sea facing room. Yes the rooms still need a bit of a revamp but for the type of holiday we had we only slept and showered in the room so it did be job! Breakfast is great so much to choose from and the pool menu and drinks were handy. We ate in the a la carte restaurant twice but have to admit the second visit wasn’t quite as good but overall we were happy. The gin bar is a great new addition and all of the staff were excellent! We used the hotel to arrange taxis for us on two

A good location about 10/15 minutes from the V&A Waterfront. Good points are the friendly staff, the food, and the pool area which although quite compact works well. Breakfast is a buffet with plenty of choice and there is a good poolside and terrace menu available throughout the day. Service in the evening can be a bit touch and go with overstretched waiting staff struggling to juggle food and drink orders. Parts of the hotel are a bit tired and in need of a revamp however overall I would recommend it as reasonably priced with good facilities. A bonus are the mobile phones that enable guests to make international calls free of charge.

My husband and I spent the first part of your Cape Town trip at the President Hotel. We were given a top floor room with a view of Bantry Bay. Our room was spacious and clean and we had a nice balcony to watch the sunsets. In the morning we had a nice breakfast that was included in our stay. The breakfast was continental and it included two omelette/egg stations, various fruit platters, cereals, breads, and a variety of hot dishes. Every table had their own coffee pot as well. The hotel pool was a nice feature especially after a long day of sight-seeing as the beach down the block from the hotel is not good for swimming. The hotel is in a good location and would cost us between 40-50 rand to go to the wharf using Uber and even less for various restaurants in the vicinity. The

The President is my favorite hotel to stay at in Cape Town and all others that I stay at are measured against its service. Lovely to be received like family. Well known faces welcomed me back with smiles and genuine interest.

We had a lovely stay at the President Hotel;_just perfect!!! Our room was excellent with one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in...the shower was wonderful but with the serious water shortage we tried to cut back on its use as much as possible! The buffet breakfast was also excellent with a selection of all you could ever need! The food around the pool and at the restaurant was delicious...full marks to the chef for their Pizzas, tastiest I’ve ever eaten! The staff were all very helpful and super friendly! We enjoyed many a Madiba Cocktail at the Gin Bar by the pool. The hotel is in a great location at Sea Point/Bantrey Bay right in the middle of the two main attractions...a short cab drive between the V&A Waterfront and Camps Bay. The hotel also has a free hourly

We stayed here for five nights, on arrival the room wasn't ready, front desk just said leave your bags with concierge and come back later. ( offer of a cup of tea may have been nice) We popped to the poolside coffee shop and had a spot of lunch, good food, well presented, and a nice bottle of wine, all good value. I signed the bill to my room, with room number as a ?. The server had disappeared so I gave it to the bar staff and explained we hadn't been allocated a room No. yet, they could look it up on system as we would be staying the week. Checked in, got changed, went to sun ourselves at the pool, where the sun beds are crowded together a little too tight for comfortable manoevering around. Waiter came over to tell us we hadn't left the correct room number....(communication)

Overall it was pretty good. Wait staff and cocktail servers were the best & security was nice to have. Front desk attendants were not the best and came off rude. Front desk originally didn’t have to the room we booked but after a little arguement they meraculously found the upgraded room we had booked after we were told they were completely full...

I had a really nice time staying at the President. The hotel is well located near shops, restaurants, cafes, the beach and on bus routes. The last one is very important if you don’t have a car as you can easily get to Camps Bay, Clifton and the V and A Waterfront using the MyCiti buses...and the main tourist attractions using the Red bus company. I was a solo traveller and felt safe walking around the shops and along the promenade which was just down the road. I did have issues with my initial room but Claude from Customer Relations was so helpful and sorted things out. The breakfast was excellent and the lunches I had were really good. The kitchenette was so useful in the rooms. There were one or two issues but these would not stop me returning to the hotel. The seagulls are

A thoroughly enjoyable stay in a beautifully situated hotel with a delightful pool. The only downside is that the reception area is very noisy due to tiled floors and a low ceiling, which made checking-in unnecessarily difficult. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a beautiful suite, with a gorgeous view and balcony. Room service was quick and the food of good quality. Recommended.

The hotel has plugs for European plugs, but only one in the room. Other plugs are specific for SA. I recommend to get cheap ones from Amazon. Not sure if the hotel has plugs for guests to borrow.

as long as you pay with a credit card you will be covered, but maybe not through an email, go direct to the website to pay, never click a link in an email if you are even slightly unsure.
