Thank you for your response on Tripadvisor.
I am delighted you had a relaxing and great stay with us.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the President Hotel in the near future for another relaxing stay in our amazing sea facing rooms or even in one of our beautiful Mountain facing ones, maybe even a dip in our rim flow pool overlooking the Indian Ocean while sipping on one of our famous cocktails.
Kind Regards
Jeremy Clayton
This is the 3rd time I have stayed at The President. I really like it there. The rooms are comfortable, clean and modern. The bar and restaurant area is a vibe. If you like big and commercial hotels, with visitors literally from all over the world, then this hotel is for you. The swimming pool, although under renovation is also great.
Dear Dazzagordi,
Thank you for commenting on Tripadvisor.
I am pleased you had a great stay with us. We cant wait to welcome you back to dip your toes in our newly renovated pool while sipping on one of our delicious cocktails.

I stay at this hotel regularly and have always been satisfied with the hotel and service.
First disappointment was to find the swimming pool under renovation resulting in lots of dust and noise during the day. I would appreciate having been warned beforehand and could have chosen an alternative hotel. To add to this , on Sunday no cushions or umbrellas were placed outside at the outdoor furniture , so even if one wanted to sit outside for a while, there were no basic comforts provided.
Dinner in the restaurant left a lot to be desired in terms of service, quality and presentation. The restaurant prices are in line with some of SA's most upmarket establishments. At these prices rather take yourself to one of the wonderful restaurants Cape Town has to offer.
Dear Mr Smerkovitz
Thank you for taking the time to comment on Tripadvisor.
I apologise for the inconvenience caused regarding the renovations been done to the pool and surrounding areas and for you not being informed about the renovations when making your booking. With summer just around the corner we opted to give the pool a face lift in the traditionally rainy August, fortunately the sun shone and ai apologise you did not have the opportunity this sty to utilise the pool. As for the outside furniture not being set up, I have spoken with the relevant Department Head and in future this will not happen again.
Thank you for your feedback regarding the Dinner, Service and Price. We are currently working on the Menus and sending our staff for extensive training in this regard.
I sincerely hope you will afford us the opportunity to showcase the true President Hotel service and standards in the future and should you be returning to The President Hotel please contact me directly in order to assist you in organising your stay in order for us to show you our Hospitality at its best.
Kind Regards

This is a very difficult hotel to rate.
On a plus point the room was large and comfortable with a massive bed.
Staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much for them.
However the catering was the bad point.
Funnily enough there were a party of German tourists on the next table hence the Basil Fawlty and Manuel comments.
Dinner was a farce - first of all there was only a set menu available, therefore it should have been straightforward.
It was too much to ask - we had to wait 45 minutes for our starters to arrive. Then when the main course arrived my wife's chicken was, at best, lukewarm and had to be sent back.
We were not the only ones to send food back either.
On our final afternoon we had tea and some cake but when it came to pay none of the staff knew how to use the card payment machine.
The wi-fi, although free, was absolutely appalling no faster than old fashioned dial-up and the printer in the business centre was so poor it wasn't good enough to print our boarding passes.
Good Day BritishTraveller123,

Everything was great, except I was a bit thrown off when we were charged R 60.00 per car for the night. We did not want to open an account so when we placed the order for room service we requested they brought the credit card machine with. This never happened and was then phoned to ask how we are going to pay. They eventually came back to the room with the credit card machine
Spend a long weekend at the hotel, great hotel clean at a reasonable price and a great breakfast. A nice little gym and the sound of the waves breaking on the rocks to wake u up. The area seems safe for nice walks along the promenade and their are great little restaurants nearby.
The staff is friendly and the service all over is outstanding. There is a nice big pool overlooking the ocean but unfortunately during winter it was too cold to try out, next time definately.
