The Plastics Paradox: Facts for a Brighter Future Hardcover – Illustrated, March 6 2020
Purchase options and add-ons
The Plastics Paradox is the first and only book to reveal the truth about plastics and the environment. Based on over 400 scientific articles, it dispels the myths that the public believe today.
We are told that plastics are not green when in fact, they are usually the greenest choice according to lifecycle analysis (LCA)
We are told that plastics create a waste problem when they are proven to dramatically reduce waste, for example replacing 1lb of plastic requires 3-4lb of the replacement material
We are told that plastics take 1000 years to degrade when in fact a plastic bag disintegrates in just one year outdoors
We are led to believe that plastic bags and straws are an issue when in fact they barely register in the statistics
The list goes on...
Everything you believe now is untrue and we are making policies that harm the environment based on bad information. After reading The Plastics Paradox you will be able to make wise choices that help create a brighter future for us and for our children.

About the author
Chris is considered one of the top plastic materials experts and problem solvers in the World, which is why companies like HP, Apple, P&G, Eaton, iRobot and Disney turn to him for help.
As author of the acclaimed book The Plastics Paradox, Dr. DeArmitt cemented his status as the leading independent expert on plastics and the environment. By reading over 2000 peer-reviewed articles on waste, litter, degradation, microplastics, ocean plastics and related topics, he found that we have been misled and that the scientific evidence refutes the online demonization of plastic.
In 2018 he was featured on CBS 60 Minutes with Scott Pelley as an expert witness in a class-action lawsuit related to Marlex mesh plastic implants. Further media appearances include the BBC, Sky News and PBS/NPR.
Chris has a multitude of granted patents as well as numerous articles, book chapters, encyclopedia chapters and conference presentations to his name. He is an award-winning speaker on plastics, the environment and innovation related topics. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Chartered Chemist.

I wish i had read it sooner as this book has justified my weekly rants of the last 2 years on social media platforms, we areall being lied to about plastics.
The author uses scientific fact and data to justify everythintg written in the book, unlike our governements, media and social influencers who use the last thing they heard as "fact".
If you like plastics, if you dislike plastic or even if you dont have an opinion, read this book.
Seite 177 „We are told plastics harm the environment when multiple lifecycle analyses show they are usually the greenest option and that replacing htem would in fact be harmfull. We are told that plastics cause a waste problem when in truth, plastics comprise only 13% of solid waste. Furthermore, plastics have dramatically reduced waste and replacing them requires 3-4x more material leading to far more waste, more carbon dioside, and more energy consumption.“
