By road

From the M11: Exit at Junction 11 (north or southbound). Take the A1309 into Cambridge and go over two main junctions. After approximately 1.5 miles, you will reach a main set of traffic lights at the junction with Long Road (A1134). Turn right at the junction with Long Road, towards Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Continue to the next major crossroads. Turn left into Hills Road. Drive past the main entrance to the Upper School on your left and then turn right into Glebe Road. The Pelican is 100 metres along on the right-hand side. Limited parking is available. If you park in neighbouring roads, please do so with consideration for our neighbours.

By train

There are frequent fast trains from London King’s Cross to Cambridge and less frequent trains from Liverpool Street. There are also good connections from Peterborough, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh. The Pelican is a 15 to 20 minute walk from the train station and well served by buses.

Park and ride

The Babraham Road Park and Ride buses stop outside the main entrance to The Perse Upper School on Hills Road and The Pelican is a 2 minute walk away.

Park and ride

The Trumpington Park and Ride buses stop along the main road near to the Prep School.

By road

Come off the A11 at the junction with the A1307 and head towards Haverhill and the Abingtons.

Take the first right, signposted Granta Park. Follow the road to the petrol station roundabout. Go right at the roundabout and follow the Newmarket Road. Pass a turning on the left to Little Abington (Bourne Bridge Road). 

The turning to the Perse playing fields is approximately 100 metres further down Newmarket Road on the left.

Porson Road Playing Fields

After approximately 1.5 miles, you will reach a main set of traffic lights at the junction with Long Road (A1134). Continue ahead towards the city centre at this junction, then turn right into Porson Road after approximately 500 metres, and take the first right into Porson Road Playing Fields. Parking is available.

By train

Park and ride

The Trumpington Park and Ride buses, stop along the main road near to the Prep School. The Porson Road playing fields are a 5 minute walk from the bus stop.
