Watch: Al Pacino Is a Homicide Detective Trailing a Serial Killer in the Hangman Trailer
The first trailer for Hangman starring Al Pacino is here. In the psychological horror thriller, the Oscar winner plays decorated homicide detective Ray Archer who partners with criminal profiler Will Ruiney (Karl Urban) to catch a notoriously vicious serial killer, who is playing a twisted version of murder using the child's game Hangman. Journalist Christi Davies (Brittany Snow) reports on the crime spree, shadowing the detectives.
Hangman will debut on Ultra VOD November 24, and in theaters and On Demand December 22. The plot's central conceit calls to mind this week's serial killer thriller Snowman, although Hangman is almost certainly bound to get better reviews than that film.
Urban, known to most audiences as Bones in the rebooted Star Trek films, is an underrated actor, and he needs to be in more movies. If you haven't seen his remarkably committed performance in 2012's Dredd, be sure to check that out. Watch the trailer for Hangman below.
