This restaurant is asking for reservations, due to Covid and Social Distancing, but we were lucky when we walked in without one and they weren't real busy. So glad we got seated. Food and Service are AWESOME!! Best lunch ever! I had Salmon Tacos and...my partner had a Burger. Both were excellent, and our server, Christine did a fantastic job. She even noticed(before I did) that I had gotten chilly, so she was going to close the AC vent near our table. They have a wonderful selection on their menu, and specials every day. The chef is very creative. Large selection of draft beers and a full bar. We did not get dessert, but it sure looked tempting. If you are in Washington, you have to try this. I can't wait to go back.More

The place on Saturday takes reservations but sitting at the bar we had great time with the bartenders and the food was good. The wife and daughter thought the salmon salad was great. My chicken legs were good.

Today we had an errand to Union. Last night my wife read an article about the Old Dutch Hotel and Tavern in Washington that was on the way. We stopped for lunch and were glad that we did! The food was SUPERB: the fish and...chips was hand breaded fresh cod and my blackened salmon salad was seasoned just right. Both dishes featured homemade sauces: tarter sauce and salad dressing with a touch of fresh dill. The wife had the Crème Brule for dessert and couldn't stop smiling. DO NOT miss this place...More

Made reservations for 11 for my parents 50th anniversary. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for the first of food to arrive. Then another 15 minutes for the last plate to hit the table. The waitress seemed to disappear for long periods of time...and most of our table sat without drinks while waiting, and had nothing to drink while eating. The four scallops on a $33 plate were a pitiful size. The chicken pot pies arrived looking like someone had forgot to put filling in. The burger had sat a while before being delivered to the table. I left feeling like I should have taken my parents to McDonald’s, sad.More

I'm sorry I didn't take pictures of the ribeye, potatoes, and vegetable medley but it looked as good as it tasted! Even for take out, it was melt-in-your mouth perfect. I did order it slightly different than how the menu read as I like their...blackening seasoning. That pepper is just right for this ribeye cooked to medium rare and it was cooked perfectly to temp. The dutch style potatoes are always good and the vegetables were a mix of squash and red peppers. Just fantastic again. I'm just sorry that I haven't been in so long. I honestly didn't know what to expect from takeout but I now know that you can't go wrong with their food no matter how you take it.More

TA, this great restaurant is not closed. The owner of Old Dutch Restaurant was made aware that their Trip Advisor listing shows them as closed, which is probably a carryover from March/April of 2020. We decided to drive by ODR anyway on our way home...from Hermann last week. Sure glad we did. This nice restaurant is in a historic building on a main street corner below a hotel. We entered with masks and sat at the bar. We thoroughly enjoyed our late lunch dining experience. I had the day's special ham & cheese sandwich ($9) and she had their luscious fish & chips ($12). BTW, Their tartar sauce with a touch of dill was terrific. Prices are fair here. We'll go back when we're in the area again.More

I have dined here for both dinner and lunch on several occasions. The food is always good. My most recent dining experience was wonderful. The gentleman who served us had a nice sense of humor and he was very efficient and on top of things....Unfortunately this is not always the case. The service can be slow especially when it comes to cocktails or beverages. This is true whether you are sitting at a table in the dining room or at the bar itself. Last time I was in for a drink at the bar the gentleman by the bar was pretty good but in the past I have received very slow service from other bartenders while sitting at the bar whether it is busy or slow. I recommend dining here highly however be patient because the service can be uneven especially if you’re ordering cocktails.More

We were on a day trip from St. Louis to Washington MO. We chose Old Dutch as our lunch stop based on the reviews. No one in our party of four was disappointed with their choice. The stuffed mushrooms are excellent! Our meal choices included...the blackened salmon salad, a Cobb salad, the blackened chicken sandwich and the chicken salad sandwich. I don’t think you can go wrong at this restaurant. Enjoy!More

Mouth watering! Not only was the food expertly prepared, the quality of food was better than we've had in a long time.... anywhere! We were able to cut out filets with a fork! The sides were fabulous and appetizer (stuffed mushrooms) were the best I've...had anywhere. We will definitely be making this a regular stop! Loved loved loved!More

My wife and I were traveling cross country when we arrived in Washington, MO . We went out to find a place for lunch as we were hungry for a good salad. I had their grilled chicken caesar and my wife had the old dutch...salad and they were both exactly what we were looking for. The lettuce was crisp and the chicken was grilled perfectly. We split an order of calamari and that was very good also. We would definitely go back to the Old Dutch Inn if we lived closer to Washington, MO.More

If you read my past 500+ reviews you’ll see I might have maybe ten 5 star ratings. The hostess, I’m thinking she is the owner, was watching over everything from the guests arriving to the service from servers, to the patrons at the bar. We...made reservations as the night before we couldn’t get in by walking up. The owner came to our table and asked how everything was and thanked up for coming. The waitress even asked if we wanted desert (seemingly a thing of the past). Food SWA’s superb all around. Six in our party, everyone commented on the flavors and the service. We’ll be back.More

The whole experience was wonderful! Nicole was our server and was excellent at her position. We are new to town visiting and ask for recommendations of things to do and she came back after dinner with a written list of things that we should not...miss while in Washington. How nice! The bourbon, glazed pork chop was amazing and a dish we won't soon forget! Delicious!More

Visiting there with son on a Friday evening. Made a reservation, at their suggestion, but was seated immediately. Service was prompt and waitress was cheerful. I had the meatloaf and grilled asparagus. Really big serving size, and was best meatloaf I've ever had. Sorry Mom......It was juicy, like infused with mushroom or something and not a bunch of catsup on top. Son had blackened grouper and said it was really good. Price was much better than I expected. I'll definitely go back.More

Service here is exceptional. Food here: beyond exceptional. Call ahead and make your reservation. It’s worth it. Ask the bartender for cocktail recommendations and you will not be disappointed. Best service I’ve ever had.

Atmosphere is nice. Belt drive fans on the ceiling give it a nice look. But we waited over an hour to get our food and the ribeye was sad. Very bland. Beer is over priced. The waitress was fairly helpful keeping kids occupied. If you...come here don’t be in a hurry. Won’t be backMore
