Thanks in advance.
as the title says. could i request a wiki page about the game revolutions that have happened and just the things about it.
because there is almost nothing about the war thunder/Minecraft revolution except some reddit posts and youtube videos. so instead of forgetting it, I think a wiki page would be good for people to know what happened and how it happened.
Is there any ongoing project on wikipedia to address the issue of different/missing/contrary content on the same topic but in different language? It seems is already known but i couldn't find information if it is being adressed. Many thanks for information about it and related links or keywords to look for!
I'm a regular Wikipedia donator. I believe in what they're doing, I think it's a massive benefit to the whole world, and most people take it for granted.
I also understand it needs to be funded by somebody. Adverts are to root of all evil and I respect them a lot for not funding that way.
But as a regular donator I'm constantly bombarded by spammy solicitation emails asking me to make more donations. Even though I want Wikipedia to succeed and I'm willing to donate to them, the way they solicit donations makes me feel like a gullible fool.
The opening line of the latest email "Please don't skip this 1-minute read. I’m sorry to interrupt ..." sounds like the opening I would expect from a Nigerian prince scam. It continues with a sob story about how they're limping on, but my donation will make all the difference.
These emails are a hurdle to overcome when donating. The best I can say about them is they remind me to donate, which to be fair does work. But the pushy delivery makes me recoil.
So my suggestion is to change the delivery of these emails to make me feel less like I'm being patronized and more like my money is making a difference.
The things I would like to see in a fund raising email:
-
outline the costs of Wikipedia to help me understand how the money is spent
-
show how much money is being raised so far the distribution of donations
-
show me usage statistics so I can get an idea of how widely Wikipedia is used
-
outline current initiatives and priorities
I'm going to continue to donate whatever they do, but I think a more frank and informational pitch would make me feel better about donating than the guilt trip emails they currently send.
How do other donators feel about this?
Hi, I have made some changes to a Wikipedia page. And the template I chose was 'in-use' how do I remove that template?
I'm not an administrator so I can't block.
This user keeps edit warring back to the wrong information about a town.
I undid revision several times and even asked that person to explain their edits, but they refused to discuss and continued edit warring and vandalising the page with poor sources.
How do I report on the app?
