The Patagones were a race of giant humans rumoured to be living in Patagonia and described in early European accounts. They were said to have exceeded at least double normal human height, with some accounts giving heights of 13 to 15 feet or more.

Erik Brandt is best known for his failed nomination of Adolf Hitler for the Nobel Peace Prize on the eve of World War II. The nomination was quickly withdrawn as Brandt, who was an antifascist, never intended for it to be a serious proposal and instead saw it only as a "satiric criticism".

could I maybe request a wiki page about game revolutions? like the war thunder revolution and the Minecraft revolution? could I maybe request a wiki page about game revolutions? like the war thunder revolution and the Minecraft revolution?

as the title says. could i request a wiki page about the game revolutions that have happened and just the things about it.

because there is almost nothing about the war thunder/Minecraft revolution except some reddit posts and youtube videos. so instead of forgetting it, I think a wiki page would be good for people to know what happened and how it happened.

Spammy Donation Emails Spammy Donation Emails

I'm a regular Wikipedia donator. I believe in what they're doing, I think it's a massive benefit to the whole world, and most people take it for granted.

I also understand it needs to be funded by somebody. Adverts are to root of all evil and I respect them a lot for not funding that way.

But as a regular donator I'm constantly bombarded by spammy solicitation emails asking me to make more donations. Even though I want Wikipedia to succeed and I'm willing to donate to them, the way they solicit donations makes me feel like a gullible fool.

The opening line of the latest email "Please don't skip this 1-minute read. I’m sorry to interrupt ..." sounds like the opening I would expect from a Nigerian prince scam. It continues with a sob story about how they're limping on, but my donation will make all the difference.

These emails are a hurdle to overcome when donating. The best I can say about them is they remind me to donate, which to be fair does work. But the pushy delivery makes me recoil.

So my suggestion is to change the delivery of these emails to make me feel less like I'm being patronized and more like my money is making a difference.

The things I would like to see in a fund raising email:

  • outline the costs of Wikipedia to help me understand how the money is spent

  • show how much money is being raised so far the distribution of donations

  • show me usage statistics so I can get an idea of how widely Wikipedia is used

  • outline current initiatives and priorities

I'm going to continue to donate whatever they do, but I think a more frank and informational pitch would make me feel better about donating than the guilt trip emails they currently send.

How do other donators feel about this?

The British Empire Exhibition ran from 23 April to 1 November 1924 at Wembley Park in London. The first Wembley Stadium was built for it and along with exhibits from each of the colonies, events included a military display/tattoo, fireworks, a rugby match, a simulation of an air attack, and a rodeo.

The British Raj fostered a segregation between Aryan and non-Aryan along the lines of caste, with the upper castes being "Aryan" and the lower ones being "non-Aryan". The European developments allowed the British and Brahmins to identify themselves as Aryans.
