The Matrix Resurrections falls short compared to the original, but doesn't skimp on the action or cool visual effects.

Nick Loved the original triology but this was just rough. I get soft reboots but not everything needs it. Matrix had a great ending so continuing the story in other ways would have been more beneficial than bringing back original cast. Also if you bring back original cast you either do it with Lawernce or not. Huge miss here. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Paul I love the Matrix trilogy. But this story was a huge letdown Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review EMILY Thought it was great. A lower budget, but a better ending than Matrix 3. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/30/22 Full Review Maurice Great movie! definitely want to see again Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/15/22 Full Review Lynne Really great—so much fun to come back to The Matrix—seeing Neo & Trinity again. The effects were great and I loved how the story fit with the progression of time. Liz Shannon Miller Consequence "A movie that is in direct conversation with itself and what came before, and while the routes it takes to get there are sledgehammer blunt at times, the points it raises are wild." Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 10, 2022 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review None of the head-spinning revelations of the first...here's the thing: The Matrix really is a standalone film. Jan 19, 2022 Full Review Zach Pope Zach Pope Reviews A sleek, meta, & complex return to this franchise makes for an ALMOST Perfect sequel even if it’s second half could of been stronger Jul 26, 2023 Full Review Manuel São Bento MSB Reviews Lana Wachowski delivers a surprisingly meta, self-aware movie about the original trilogy packed with bold, fascinating ideas but an absolutely terrible execution.
