Steve D Really sweet and completely engaging. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/24 Full Review Ted B 3 stars; A Louisa May Alcott story. So it was your basic Cinderella plot. It came out in the 'Jayne Austin' movie era. It was a good period piece and well acted. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review joe m Pure schmaltz - yet so enjoyable! Back when Louise May Alcott wrote the book that was the basis of "The Inheritance" (in 1849) the tropes of romantic suspense were likely not has well worn as they are now. Here we have the story of an abandoned orphan taken in by a rich, cultured family who then becomes a beautiful young woman who is sought by all the eligible men. And, of course, she is despised by the evil, poor relation who tries to thwart the heroine's path to happiness. A paint-by-numbers plot, yet well executed in that movie of the week type delivery. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Costumbrista, buena ambientación, típica Louisa May Alcott Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I hope more people seek out and find this tv-movie. It is based on Louisa May Alcott's novel of the same name and is a wonderful hidden gem of the period drama genre. The story is perhaps a bit too dependant on the coincidental but the characters will please with their genuineness and Gibson and Shayne together is a treat. Period drama fans need to find and enjoy this film now! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Not the greatest acting in the world, but it was ok.
