The Gandy is the bar area of the Grand Concourse restaurant. Located in an old train station, the atmosphere is unique. From the fresh food bar area to the sometimes crowded tables and bar area, this is a very nice place for a quick meal...and drinks after work. Parking is by valet or you can walk a distance to the free parking areas. Very good food and drinks in a great atmosphere!More

Even with the bar still closed for covid safety, the visual surroundings of this location is a stunning site of late 19th Century craftsmanship. And that's where it ended. The service was indeed lacking as we were the sole occupants, yet could not find our...gal for quite some time. Yes, we were in a huge rush to leave, thanks for asking. The thundering club music at volume 12 was getting a bit much. Management has zero control over such a personal, quickly varying atmosphere call. Its disgusting. Why would you not trust a GM of such a grand place with such a decision? Makes me never wish to step back into a place that a corporation so lost in its power to control what it has no business controlling from 700 miles away. Ruined the entire bloody experience. Shame really. Do Do Do go to the Grand ConcourseMore

While visiting Pittsburgh for business, we came here for dinner one evening and decided to sit at the bar. Service was OK, nothing special. The menu is really nice looking and honestly, the food we got was great. Drinks are decent and the wine list...was adequate. The venue is really pretty and looks great for having a special event. Even though the food was really good, I just can’t see returning for the price and service, it’s a “one and done” visit for me.More

Stopped by here on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon to get it a nice cold drink at the bar. We asked the bartender a question in regards to getting a bottle of wine we saw on the menu, and his response was “I don’t know, I’ve...only been working here for four days.“ Not to overwhelm him we just decided to order two glasses of Prosecco. He poured one in a champagne flute and the other in a Pilsner glass. We were in shock at his glassware choices! As we we went to take the first deep sip, we were upset that the Prosecco were very warm! We tried numerous times to get his attention but to no avail even though the bar only had two other customers. We finally got his attention and told him about the warm for Prosecco, and asked nicely for a cold glass. The bartender angrily grabbed our warm i matching glasses off of the bar, very aggressively dump them into the sink with a lot of hostility and poured us two cold glasses - this time he got the bottle from the fridge. We were going to ask for a second round but the bartender just looked hot and bothered. So, we gave up, paid our bill, left and walked next door to another restaurant where we were greeted with a happy warm smile, a great seat outdoors overlooking the water and two identical ice cold glasses of Prosecco! We enjoyed this bar much more that we decided to stay, order a big lunch, a full bottle of cold Rose and enjoyed the beautiful weather outside. Very disappointed how we were greeted at the Grandy Dancer by the rude bartender. I will never got back.More

As home grown Pittsburghers, my partner and I have frequented the Grand Concourse and the Gandy Dancer for decades. Our visit recenty was horrible. We were treating out-of-town guests to drinks and dinner and decided to have drinks at the Gandy Dancer. We noticed as...soon as we entered that tables had not be cleared so we had to sit at the bar. We sat there for at least 20 minutes while the bar staff stood at the other end of the bar talking to each other. We waited another 5 minutes, and when no one took our orders we simply walked out. Very disappointing, I don't think they train their staff.More

This spot is an excellent place for a casual get together with friends. The location is good and easy to find. The food is very good (they have an excellent vegetarian meal). The service was the very best. Taylor and Miranda were pleasant and attentive...and provided us with every need, advice and courtesy. Two of the best servers i have ever encountered. i highly recommend the Gandy Dancer.More

Had a very enjoyable and excellent lunch with exceptional service. The server name was Noel and she was great. The combination of both service and food added to the enjoyment of our meal. It was my wife's birthday and the server offered her a desert...which we shared and was great. Make sure if you go ask for Noel for an excellent meal and service.More

My family had dinner at the Gandy Dancer Saloon. We had the Cajun Chicken Tortellini. It came with a huge house salad. There was also a basket of rolls and flat bread. The food was hot and brought promptly. Our waiter Cameron was wonderful and...the best we have had in a long time. He checked on us regularly throughout the meal bringing more bread, water and sodas. He brought my daughter's dinner as soon as it was ready because she was hungry. He boxed up our meals efficiently and promptly brought the check. It was a wonderful meal with excellent service. If you go definitely ask for Cameron!!! ***Make sure you park in the first lot so you can have your parking ticket validated.More

Shocked by the under-serving (I'd be surprised if there was even 8oz in my serving) of Charley's Chowder in the large, but shallow bowl. I could almost see the bottom of my bowl - where were the pieces of fish and seafood??? Where did the...historic "crocks" go??? And, while I'm at it, the chowder was served slightly warm....I remember it coming piping hot !! The delicious, freshly baked rolls were enjoyed, but only after asking for them (you never used to have to ask for rolls to accompany your soup/chowder or salad) ! Despite these first impression negatives, the taste and quality of the entrees made up for it (almost) - the crab club was large and very fresh and tasty. The Salmon Angel Hair was also very good, and did arrive steaming hot ! Yay! Though our server lacked an engaging personality , he did perform his 'server' jobs well, and kept our beverages refilled.More

Busy bar in old train station. While the place looked popular, our experience was just average. The best part of dinner was the rolls and crab avocado appetizer. The entrees were just OK. The Linguini with clams was disappointing as it came with just chopped...canned clams and mussels. Wrong shellfish guys. Also has a seafood jambalaya was more like a gumbo. The worse part was how slow things took. Was hoping to ride the incline rail after dinner but we did not have enough time. So if you want to spend a long evening might be worth a try, but you may want to ask more details about the entrees than what it says on the menu.More

Reputed for the oyster bar, our oysters were at the very edge of going bad. Tiny, not briny nor super fresh, very disappointing. This was mentioned to waitstaff, the only response was "sorry about that". The signature Charleys Chowder was bland at best. Friends pasta...had a piece if plastic wrap in it, the manager came over about that, again same response..."sorry". Saidmshe spoke to kitchen staff, but made no effort to comp the pasta, offer a free dessert or anything. Forgettable wine list...Nothing that works well with shellfish like muscadet, gros plant or crisp sauvignon blanc. Off the Hook in Wexford puts this place to shame.More

My daughter and I along with her friend and mother went to this restaurant Saturday before the Taylor Swift concert. She ordered Chicken tenders and fries. The service was terrible. It took us 45 minutes just to get our food. When we finally received our...food my daughter bit into her chicken tender and then asked me what was wrong with it. It was completely RAW!! I told her to spit it out immediately and then go to the bathroom and wash out her mouth as best she could. I called the Manager over and showed him the raw tender. He apologized; however, I have no idea how you could serve a raw chicken tender. My daughter could have become seriously ill! I have contacted the Health Department and filed a complaint. I don't usually post anything on these sites but am compelled to share this with as many people as possible since I dont' want anyone else's children served raw food.More

Although the atmosphere is not bad - the old station is lovely - the food was just plain poor. The salad was iceberg lettuce with so-so dressing, and the seafood dishes completely overcooked. We were a party of three and two people got their food...at least 10 minutes after the first person was served. I know is it meant to be casual, but that is a bit too casual for me.More

There is a Sheraton Hotel at Station Square that is about 3 blocks away from the Gandy Dancer. The SHERATON, like most downtown hotels DOES NOT offer a free shuttle from the airport. Use Super Shuttle or TAXI
