If you enjoy old fashioned soda or candy, this is the place to go. We carry the largest selection of glass bottled sodas in the South Bay and our old-timey candy selection is really fun. We bake our pastries fresh every morning and serve them with the best coffee in town. We proudly pour Batdorf & Bronson coffees and Espressos. Our menu is served in-house or to-go. Grab a Ciabatta Cheeseburger and a soda and walk a block to the bluffs for a nice picnic. We serve light breakfast items such as: Breakfast Bagel Sandwich, Steel Cut Oatmeal, Granola and Yogurt with Fresh Fruit. Try a hand-scooped Malt or Milkshake in a variety of flavors. Browse in our gift shop and check out the paintings by local artists on sale. Kids love this store because of the candy selection and the toys to play with while mom enjoys her lunch. You will always find the neighborhood dogs out front drinking water and munching on doggie treats. It is a wonderful place for an old fashioned good time.

Jan 19, 2021Previous reviewHidden gem. I love just walking around looking at their random selection of candy, kids games and local art vendors. The menu is decently priced, coffee is great and their dessert bar is yum. They also have a huge selection of pop!

The Corner Store changed ownership and several months+ ago and it probably is better than 3 stars - my partner likes it still. I am a bit unhappy the menu was changed removing my favorite sandwich - The Sailor's Delight. A good chicken sandwich. :(
There are other sandwiches that look good in the pared down menu. Also, the place appears to be trying to get a bit more of an event space feel. No Katie Perry appearances soon but something more like local talent.
If you're in the area, it is still worth to check it out My rating could easily go up a star after the bitterness fades.
Sep 10, 2022Previous reviewThis place had a change of ownership and some of it has been good and nothing bad but will have to see how it plays out. They are reconfiguring the way the space is used. Outside seating up front still remains but they have place the performance/ music people outside to the side. The inside is more of a quieter dining spot.
The menu literally has just changed so old favorites may be gone. The Sailor's Delight is off the menu but may remain as a "secret item" with some changes but it still is a good sandwich. Still nice but have to see how it plays out. 
Ricardo M.Wilmington, United States33Nov 18, 2023Been waiting for a wrap for over 30 mins, only person sitting inside the cook comes out and says they gave my order to another person it's pretty empty easy to spot a person sitting in front counter simply waiting and not acknowledge to see why a wrap is not out yet maybe it's the best wrap I'll ever try in this lifetime

They have a cafe inside with coffees and homemade snacks (some of which were vegan). It felt like a small general store you'd find in the country.

And everyone else I've taken there has non-vegan food has liked the food. They can make nice coffee drinks as well. If you like soda in a bottle they'll have it. You have to be patient for your food sometimes. Highly suggest it.

Also they forgot the potato salad side. :/ I'd come for something different. cute building and location. I must've come in during a shift change bc it wasn't busy at the time. Nice staff regardless. Also some cute things like jewelry and Knick knacks for sale. Many different chip and bottled soda options
Adrian S.Harbor City, United States54043May 21, 2023I love coming to The Corner Store on my lunch break to grab a cup if their delicious coffee and to read the local paper. The store looks and feels like a blast from the past, a 1940's Neighborhood Market located near the beach.
They have a nice lounge area that feels like a sun room that you can enjoy while having a cup of tea or enjoying a Sandwich. It's also the perfect spot to stop by before talking a walk along the beautiful San Pedro Coast line, this store is a true local gem.
