Cancellation Policy
We know that plans can change, though we ask that any cancellations are made no less than 2 hours* prior to your booking time. Cancellations made within this time, or failure to show up will incur an automatic charge of $30 per person for breakfast and lunch bookings, $50 per person for dinner and group menu bookings. Reservations made only for snacks, coffees or drinks may be subject to a shorter seating time, at the venue’s discretion.
*Group menu bookings on Friday & Saturday require 48 hour notice for cancellation.

Last bookings and walk-ins are taken 1 hour prior to closing time.
Takeaway is available daily until 5pm.
Please note that a 1.5% surcharge applies to all card payments. A 5% surcharge applies on weekends (excluding groups of 10 or more). A 10% service charge will apply to groups of 10 or more. A 15% surcharge applies on public holidays. A $3pp cakeage charge applies to external cakes.
Our menus are subject to change without notice. Not all ingredients are listed on the menu. Please make your server aware of any dietary requirements before ordering. TRAIN & BUS
The closest train station is Town Hall. The Grounds of the City is located on the ground floor of The Galeries shopping centre, which has direct access from to Town Hall station.
Buses stop frequently on York, Park and Druitt Streets.
LIGHT RAIL
The nearest light rail stop is QVB. The Grounds of the City is located just south of the QVB light rail stop on George Street, opposite the Queen Victoria Building.
TAXI & RIDESHARE
Taxis and Rideshare (e.g. Uber, Ola, etc.) can drop off / pick up in the surrounding streets of the CBD, but please note that George Street is a pedestrian-only zone, so direct vehicle access is not permitted.
As The Grounds of the City is located in the heart of the CBD, in a pedestrian-only zone and does not have an onsite car park, we do not recommend driving as an option. Should you need to drive, however, there are several privately operated car parks in the surrounding area, including at the nearby QVB (access via York Street). Please pay attention to any traffic directions, road closures or restrictions.
